They’re the real characters. The only people who decide whether or not it’s really them is Capcom, and according to them, it’s really the Darkstalkers characters. So deal with it.
Really? Has Capcom jumped out and say “hey, look, the character in this Street Fighter Alpha stage, is Morrigan. Yes. Morrigan. The same Morrigan from Darkstalkers”?
Boooo! I like my fluffy Kung fu doggy, thank you very much. Human Talbain just isn’t Talbain. OK I’m not gonna derail this thread anymore. Back on topic, how’s about a badass old lady for a new character?
The cast I’ve been thinking of should be a balanced selection between the different editions and of the basic archetypes while selecting as few characters from SF4 that were not introduced in SF4 themselves.
Street Fighter 2 Series
Ryu
Chun-Li
Zangief or T. Hawk
Street Fighter Alpha Series
Charlie
Karin
Birdie
Street Fighter 3 Series
Urien
Alex
Necro
Street Fighter 4 Series
Abel
C. Viper
Juri
12 returning characters with 4 remaining slots for new additions if needed. The only ones I feel strongly about at all would be the SF4 selections because I would like to see them experimented with or refined under new system mechanics. Abel particularly has some dumb or jenky animations on some of his specials (CoD specifically) and could use new ones that weren’t borrowed from Urien. The focus attacks for all of them could even be used as either new normals or command normals (minus the armour and charging) since those were some of the best animations in SF4. Viper and Juri I think are the best designed female cast members outside of Makoto.
So I sat down with Capcom Fighting Evolution today, and by extention Ingrid. For people that don’t know how she plays: CvS2/KoF Athena. She has an odd range projectile, some mid-range spin attack, and counters. However, she doesn’t feel all that innovative as far as characters go, so I am led to believe that the majority of people asking for her just want magical girl/waifu stuff in the game.
Ingrid always seemed really odd for a Street Fighter character. Like a young cute girl who’s uber powerful with abilities such as time travel? That’s something I’d expect to see in Arcana Hearts or Blazblue. Her and Oni are the most outplace SF characters hands down. I do not wish to ever see them in future titles
I’d like new characters over existing ones anytime, though I admit I’d want to see Urien again.
What I want for a new character would be a midrange zoner, something like dhalsim, but while dhalsim is slow and long range I want something agile, dodge-y midrange styled.
A true Outboxer comes to mind. Based on SFxTk Steve’s Sways and Ducks with Flicker Jabs as zoning tools,
So far, I feel that boxing in Capcoms universe is all about getting in and squishing faces. But what about fast boxers that drain their opponents energy instead of going for heavyhit knockouts?
Karin, ok I like what I’ve seen from her, seems a good replacement if Feilong doesnt make the cut (hopefully he doesnt)
Im not so sure about Street Fighter EX, doubt we will ever see characters from there again, not even as cameos in the background…
More characters from final fight are always welcomed, Haggar though… where’s haggar??
About Eagle, he existed way before Mr. Big, so that whole “capcom now has someone who can rival […]” is a little flawed, but hey… Eagle! I’m all for it.
I care less about who they include than the number of characters they include. They need to stop with the endless stream of characters, many of whom are pointless additions. I’ve been playing they game for 5 years and I still feel like I don’t know certain matches.
It should be 10 characters for SFV and 5 for every update.
they should up the basketball angle for Sean. Like a command grab where he jumps up and reverse slam dunks the opponent. Or something like Dudley’s counter, where instead of dropping his gloves he crosses up the other guy.
