SFV Character Request/Anticipation Thread

On a related note - characters seem to be revealed in pairs, anyone wanna bet that they’re might be another one being revealed soon?

With the exception of Bison and Nash, yeah everyone seemed to be revealed in pairs. Please let it be a new character.

I hope there’s a couple 3S characters that fit in that slot, but I’m pretty sure you’re going to be seeing 2 more Alpha characters next to Nash and Birdie.

Alex and Urien are two big requested 3S characters and I highly doubt they would throw both of them in at launch.

… And that’s bad. Alex and Urien are highly requested since SF4, gimme some 3s love!

Alex as retuning char would be cool,but I don’t want another one of these “hypemonsters”, they will end as unplayed chars in a corner and the spots would be wasted.

So far they only revealed Ryu-Chun, Cammy-Birdie as pairs, everybody else was a single reveal. Necalli,Bison,Charlie Nash,Ken and Bison.All singles.

You know I hope there is a character that falls into the stance change category ala gen. Though I feel gen should stay dead for this game or make one of his stances a wheelchair

A stance character like Gen would be great here I think. His V-Skill could just be switching between them and you could special cancel between them, leading to good combos. Definitely a lot more approachable, which seems to be what Capcom is going for this time around.

As far as the green box goes the characters appear to be rivals. Ryu/Ken, Chun Li/Vega, Bison/Cammy. Whoever goes in the top right is probably going to be connected in someway. I’m probably just seeing a pattern that isn’t there, but if the pattern holds. The top row are friendly rivals, the bottom row are un-friendly rivals.

Adon a dope character though, with a legit style that needs to be represented. there are no other real muay thai characters to represent. and no Sagat doesn’t count (which he will probably be there). And he’s good too. Sim is… well… not…

the last rival pair could be sagat and balrog. they are both archetypes that are not in the game yet (zoner and boxer) and they are opposite in personality.

and they are both sf2 characters and therefore fit the green box. and they complete the sf2 boss set. capcom pls

Oh damn, I actually didn’t follow this logic when composing the pic. Yeah, you’re right. Then it means, if Urien is in the game - he’ll be next to Charlie. That would also mean that Abel/Juri are out of place there, and something like Karin/Sakura or Guy/Cody could work better.

But other than that I can’t really think of any friendly rivalries similar ro Ryu/Ken

I wonder what they are doing with Rose… She clearly won’t be at the launch (everything points to that), but she’s very relevant to the story. It’d be very funny if she was able, with v-skills, v trigger and whatever, to fly around the stage. The same for Dhalsim.

Omega is the baseline for sf5 not ultra. I’m all for whoever as long as the redesigns [key word] are relatively huge. Ryu is probably the template they use in all the games so I can see why they keep his moveset modest.
But seriously adon needs some better moves than what he already got. Didn’t see his omega form though.

At this point, I don’t care too much about who makes it into the initial roster, but in an optimistic way. I feel like everyone’s got enough going for them that they’ll all be interesting to try out.

I’m even okay with no SFIII in the starting roster. I do want the two blue spots between Nash and Birdie to really surprise me though.

Vega looks…cool I guess? Would have liked more emphasis on the 2 different styles (claw, no claw) in the trailer. I think him having 2 switchable styles likely rules out Gen for the initial roster.
