Well they probably didn’t expect people to go as far as exploring the stage background up to these billboards, so no wonder they didn’t bother to put any effort in them, nevermind the fact how low res they are
By the way, seeing as how Capcom already included characters from different eras - do you think some returning characters might have special mechanics from their respective games as their V-Skills/V-Reversals? Like Ryu has a parry, Viper/Abel/Juri could have a focus attack, Karin/Mika could have custom combos, etc?
I could see someone have a focus attack v-skill certainly. Who that might be I don’t know. I recon Juri would have her focus-dash-counter as a v-skill.
I actually don’t think we’ll see a focus attack v-skill, at least not at launch. It’d make sense to give it to an SF4 newcomer; Juri is most likely but it doesn’t match her playstyle.
Cody does need to evolve, but not as much as Birdie or Ken has. I don’t think they’ll put FF characters into vanilla SF5 anyway, but he’s a definite fan favourite and personally I’d love a slugger like him in the first 16.
Now I think about it a focus attack would maybe suit him, with his monkey wrench attack
That looks pretty fkn fake to me. And why is it that it’s right in front of the Alex billboard but only just now I’ve seen this picture? If you can confirm it’s 100% real, then please do.
When it comes to Haggar or Zangief for SF5, both characters are pretty low on my list, and they both play similar enough where I care even less about which, if either of them, make it in.
You can find it yourself, use frame trapped 3 in USF4 on PC, turn on director mode, head over to where the train tracks are and look around. There is also a Rufus billboard that says “I Am No 1!” and one that says “100% Zangief”
I think they might release characters in packs according to their game. For example, the Alpha pack would obviously include characters from the Alpha series.
Actually, if you have the modding tools for looking at models and textures, you can find this inside the STG_HFP.tex.emz file, in the official ones, i was expecting this to be fake as well, but its actually in there.
Here is a version I just made without mod tools, you can’t quite see all of it but you can clearly see Haggar and some of R. Mika. You do Ken’s U1 in the far left corner. I dunno why metro couldn’t believe me when I flat out said I could confirm it was real.
huh. Well it really shouldn’t be making people more optimistic about R Mika or Haggar getting in. Just as how Haggar + Final Fight characters, and Fei Long have billboards already up on 2 SF5 stages. Not an indicator of a teaser or confirmation they’re making it in. Just a neat little easter egg that helps the stages feel more alive and real.
At this moment, id rather have Maki than Guy to be honest even though they are very very similar. Im not sure why, but I was just never comfortable with Guy as I was with Maki in CVS2.
