I’d be really disappointed if they included all the World Warriors in this game again, they had enough time to shine in SF4
I expect Dudley to be DLC now, but he’d be amazing in this engine, and they could really mix things up by putting a close range, mixup-heavy character in the game at this point. The characters are somewhat stale.
Also, Nutally? Nically? Looks exactly like Evil Ryu/Oni/Akuma. They made him that way because it was quick and easy development, as the skeleton and skin is a copy of characters already in the game. No need to develop additional assets. Lazy, capcom, lazy… Also he looks generic and too much like existing characters in playstyle, behind all the flashiness. Profound sadness.
I think blue could be more for characters from any non-SF2 saga.

They all will arrive, eventually, I’m pretty sure. At least it’s refreshing to see they’re giving a twist to the gameplay of characters like Ken, Bison, and Cammy, who’s also considered a “classic” SF2 character. Can’t wait to see what they do to Honda or Dhalsim, for example.
But to be fair the world warriors haven’t progressed in decades and finally Capcom has the opportunity and the balls again to evolve them with the blessings of the public (something they LOST with SF3). I would’ve loved to see where and how the WWs would’ve ended up in SF3 and beyond and I think a lot of people want this too. SFV is this opportunity. Most importantly, the world warriors earned their stripes and deserve to progress and become better and newer versions of themselves in 2015. I would love to see at least 2 more SF2 characters at launch (Claw, Sim, and/or Gief).
Don’t get me wrong, I want other SF characters to have the same opportunity but seeing what Capcom are doing with returning characters now makes me not want the WW to miss out again like they did in SF3.
This. Honda, Blanka, and Dhalsim REALLY aren’t popular enough to warrant inclusion in every sf game going forward. I don’t buy the color scheme. Do people really think there won’t be any sf3 characters on launch? c’mon son.

Dhalsim is 38th or so in the world rankings. Remy is more popular than he is in Japan. Get off of your fucking high horse.
I don’t even like all of the 8 original characters, but I think they should be in every Street Fighter main game, I mean comeon… They are iconic veterans and the reason why we love those games since 1991.
They don’t have to be necessarily in the start roster tho.
Yea, they’re iconic and I’m not saying axe them off completely. Just I think other characters need some time in the sun after being rejected for so long.

Those polls are likely indicative of a character’s popularity within the FGC only and not the rest of the world.
Go ask anyone on the street born in the 80s who is Remy. Hell, ask anyone born any time who is Remy. No one knows Remy. Remy will not fucking sell this game to the public, because regardless of what that poll says no body gives a fuck about Remy!
Dhalsim is a character from one of the single biggest selling fighting games of all time, literally millions of people know him by name or will recognize his face (or limbs) IMMEDIATELY. You get off your fucking high horse!

Oh yeah forgot sicilionara confirmed karin and mika, that takes up the blue spots then…assuming it is true. Rose is a popular Alpha character but I don’t think she’ll make the initial roster.
I’ll wait until an official announcement before saying ‘confirmed’, leaked list or no.

Don’t get me wrong, though, guys, I am not against the inclusion of SF2 character cast in general, I’m just against the idea/possibility of them being included in the initial roster. But, as Daemos said, I would only accept them if Capcom reworked the characters and changed them up since they didn’t bother to do that for 27 years straight. Heck, even Alpha and Third Strike characters were pretty much thrown into the game with all the original normals and specials without SF4 in mind. At least when we see chars like Charlie and Birdie they have radically changed from the last time we saw them
I’d expect the same to happen to all the returning characters, I’d love to see Capcom at least ATTEMPT to experiment with the cast this time around, especially since this is a new installment in the series and what better opportunity there is to rework the classic characters than a new SF game?

Dhalsim’s still one of the most emblematic and famous Street Fighter characters, he was in SFA2, X-Men vs Street Fighter series, Street Fighter x Tekken, that puts him in a level of importance similar to Zangief, it’s obvious Capcom has it in really high esteem.

As much as I’d like Sean to be in the game and to have a normal brazilian that I can relate to I don’t see another “shoto” making it in, at least initially.
