I mean, I like my weirdos and monster guys in Street Fighter as much as the next person. But Hakan’s definitely not how you do it.
If they’re continuing the trend of reveals in (loose) pairs, Karin and Mika make perfect sense (if they’re in).
Hell, they could even have a stage devoted to them: a wrestling ring on the Kanzuki compound! Or maybe a public ring sponsored by the Kanzukis with Mika as its star, her face adorning posters in the background and whatnot.

Karin went on to sponsor Mika’s wrestling career after their stories in Alpha 3. They have an established connection that I think could use some exploration in a new game.
It’s one of the reasons that after Sakura and Blanka were announced as a team in SFxT, I held onto the hope of the two making it as a team in that game. ;-;

Yeah I don’t know how old the jenkem is you’re huffing, but for somebody who seems to be such a vomit-inducing fanatic about Karin, you seem to know nothing about me. I know Karin, of all the moves that “could be unique” to her, all she has to offer are rekkas.
I got a feeling that Dark Sakura, Karin and a new character will be shown at EVO. Theres just something in my soul telling me this!

Extremely, i use it exclusively as a AA.
I wouldn’t recommend discounting characters because Ryu has a parry V-skill. Nash has a poke that absorbs fireballs, but we already have Chun-li doing the same thing with her B+HP, or bison with his orb special (psycho blast.)
And besides, it doesn’t have all that much in common with the usual “counters” that characters have in most games. When you parry an attack, you can do whatever you want afterwards, and you have to manually parry multiple hits, while a counter will deliver a canned followup as soon as something connects with it. Also, you can parry fireballs, but you usually can’t counter them.
Honestly, I think it’s weird that people still call special moves like Karin’s a “parry.” I understand the reasoning, but when words stop conveying what you mean to other people, they’ve lost their purpose. When you say “parry,” it makes people think of “tap forward to parry,” and similar things like slashback in GG or shielding in MB/Uniel. Dudley had Cross Counter in 3rd strike, too, and it’d be super-confusing if I tried to call that by the same name.
Talk of “unique moves” from a Seth player, interesting. Eternal kind of proved you don’t know Karin, but whatever.
If there was a time to release a bit ““obscure”” characters (IE not as emblematic as Ken) it is the EVO. Imo if Urien/Alex/Karin/Oro/Viper/Juri? are in the game they will be revealed here.
Exactly. I tried to minimize the amount I was seeming to argue against Karin’s inclusion by saying how people have similar movesets as it is right now anyway. We can already figure I didn’t mean “Karin parry” like “3S parry”. I just don’t know what else to call it since I wasn’t going to bother looking up the name for that move. In KoF I call Ryo’s parry a parry also. People should know what I mean. Dudley’s cross counter is special because you have to take damage to land it and it only works against highs.
Lastly, I’m not a Seth player. I’m a player who can use Seth. I also use Yang, Yun, Dudley, El Fuerte, Decapre, Gen, Bison, Rose, Sagat, Ryu, Hakan, Abel, etc. No need to be nominal.
I think it would be better that Capcom save ‘V Face’ for a later date, possibly tease them some more at Evo. Instead, Capcom should reveal more ‘hardcore’ characters that the FGC will appreciate most such as Urien and Alex. 3S characters are IDEAL for Evo I think.
