I’m the first to say isn’t one to fight, but please leave hypocrisy out.
Liberty of expression of creators is exactly what get balls cut in this situation. In fact they had to change something they initially wanted, and then removed due debatable external factors.
And feel “responsible” have nothing to do with that.
They did to follow the rules of some foreigner (for them, me and any not-murrican) stupid system of rating products, or to avoid bad publicity from the usual groups of internet peoples, or both.
Ass&bewbs fanservice is still there, they just winked at esrb and loud sjw wierdos to keep them calm
That’s a poor comparison, because the boob glitch was, well, a glitch, whereas the butt slap was intentional and was very transparently removed due to SJW pressure. Make no mistake, if this game was made 20 years ago, the butt slap would still be in. The amount of control feminism has today over art is insane.
I skimmed and scanned it in order to assess the overall tone and opinion
I really appreciate your contributions Daemos. You provided tons of comic relief and cracked me up. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping this thread reach 6 pages and nearly 2,000 views in 1 day.
One of the things I find weird about this is that I assumed the butt-slap into slam was a reference to the wrestler Rikishi who used to slap his (rather generous) backside before delivering his “stink face” move that involved him squashing his opponents face between the turnbuckle and his butt. Made sense for Mika to homage a hall-of-fame wrestler (since her other mannerisms and moves similarly homage wrestlers).
I also know my wife is sad they changed it because A ) she thought it made Mika funnier and B ) not holding the ankles for the forced muscle-buster splits makes the attack look much weaker AND doesn’t reference Kinnikuman anymore  So since she’s sad…I’m angry
Koumori, please don’t confuse the STW (social totalitarian weirdos) with feminism. Censorship of women is NOT feminism. The views of this small group do NOT reflect mainstream feminist values AT ALL.
Awesome post Yagami Fire. I think that it was a reference to her Alpha 3 appeal, where she’d rub her bottom after missing her cherry bomb or whatever that moves called.
No worries, it’s not too late to get it changed back and I’m very optimistic with what I see online now
Roof Lizard this isn’t what it’s about at all, and if you’d have read my posts, or the best posts of the page you’d understand that.
In fact I don’t think the move is sexually attractive at all, Mika’s CA, nor was it intended to be IMO.
First of all I’m a boob guy, second I like soft round booties not super toned ones like Mikas. In fact I’m a fan of her A3 look which was borderline BBW really.
They toned her up and made her more muscular like a WWE Diva, but still kept her original style mostly in tact and the CA was really clever and expressive, and definitely hype. It’s definitively something that will get a big crowd reaction and fun for Mika players.
I’m 31 years old dude, and the girl I’m with now might be “the one”. I really am not playing these games for the fan service.
My girl got a nicer body and face than any of these SFV chicks anyway ;). And she’s a feminist she’s proud of her body and all about the sexual empowerment of women, nor censorship. Love you babe if you’re reading. Censorship is not what feminism is about in fact, censoring a strong woman from expressing herself is totally against core feminist values.
This change is anti-feminism and that’s what makes the group such a joke in the first place. They truly do not get it. What’s her face is an off the deep end lunatic who wants Internet censorship of not just women but free speech in general.
The only reason she has any pull whatsoever is because her videos have quarter and half million views. However if she enabled likes and comments then Ono, Capcom and the gaming world in general would realize how unpopular she is. Enabling likes and comments on her videos would stop the ‘movement’ flat in its tracks, no one would ever take what they say seriously again, nor would they have any pull whatsoever and they know this.
For how i see it was designed as calling the attack in advance pro-wrestling style (and also as signal for her partner, since is a tag team move).
She spank like saying with wich part she is going to strike, and after she point with her finger(during the run) where she is going to hit in mid-air.
Very well done CA (better when split was still there), one of the best actually as both concept and realization.
Pure speculation but it makes a lot of sense. Rikishi was just inducted into the hall of fame this year and his sons are at the top of the tag team division so his level of visibility is at an all-time high since he was wrestling. With the lack of a turnbuckle in the game, the combo-attack makes sense…and would literally be an exact tag-team version of a stink-face…but then with a Kinnikuman muscle-buster (which King from Tekken ALSO homages) tossed in to make it totally unique. Having the slap before the move just screams “Rikishi” to me. It’d be a HELLUVA coincidence otherwise…especially with the timing of the games design cycle (which would put it basically precisely around the announcement and induction for Rikishi’s hall-of-fame ceremony)
After all she has a stone cold stunner and Japanese developers usually pay attention to what’s going on in the WWE, like how Wolf in Virtua Fighter always incorporates the latest big moves from top WWE stars.
Sorry to get off Topic but Rikishi’s sons are in the WWE? Wow that’s cool. Also I heard that Yokuzuna, Rikishi, The Rock, and Umanga all come from the same family bloodline. is that true?
Disappointed that I found this thread too late. Still, might as well put in my two cents.
Personally I think that this is an obvious case of self-censorship, but I’m not really upset or anything since I don’t look to Capcom for integrity of artistic expression. I’m not surprised or disappointed. At worst, I am concerned that the online outrage enthusiast community might smell blood in the water and use this as a springboard to exert more and more influence on the game. That crowd is never appeased, and I think it’s possible that Capcom might find itself between a rock and a hard place as every design change they make going forward is put under a microscope to see if they are “caving in to SJWs” or “catering to misogynists”.
Naw don’t think that’s true, yokazuna was Japanese if I’m not mistaken, the Rock is black and Pacific Islander ( I think Samoan). I think Rakishi was also Pacific Islander as well.
Yoko was booked as Japanese but was not. He is also related to the Rock, the Usos, Rikishi, Umaga and many others. It’s basically a full wrestling dynasty.
I don’t necessarily disagree with your point, but I take a huge, huge offense and objection to being even remotely called a “misogynist”.
I understand that the Internet is full of hyperbole but that is a big word to be throwing around. It’s one of those cases where the gaming net found out a new word, like trope and throws it around like a 5 year old who just discovered plutonium not knowing what it really means.
