Ultimately it comes down to a company making a videogame the way they want to: because they are, you know, the creators. It’s not up to gamers or anyone else to dictate how a creator makes his/her creation. If Capcom feeling they are being “responsible” by removing a camera angle that shows gratuitous ass, then that’s on them.

Who angrily slaps their ass at an opponent??? That would look ridiculous. I think a better solution would be to keep the butt slap visible, but keep the camera paned out so that her whole body is visible while doing it. That would give the look and feel of a taunt. Where as admittedly zooming in on her butt when she slaps it, does add a sexual element to it. I don’t mind but, there’s no deny there’s a sexual element to it when you zoom in like that. Also that’s just not Mika’s charater. She ain’t Gief or anything like him. Where as Gief is like the Ryu of grapplers. Mika is the Ken of grapplers. Flamboyant, stylish, likes to show off etc.

We can and are making a difference right now.
Capcom has a choice. They can either listen to the fans who have supported them all our lives, or a tiny radical misguided movement that had no intention of buying the game and still won’t and a group who probably won’t be around in 5 years. Or they can please both sides with a simple option.

You can still see 95% of Mika’s bum, and Cammy is still practically naked; if Capcom was making changes based on what you fear, you would see costume changes on top of frame editing.

You are absolutely right DevilJin sadly, they know they “got us”, Street Fighter has a built in audience and unfortunately we see companies make the mistake of taking us for granted. Just look at the Xbox One fiasco; Microsoft thought that they had their 360 audience in the bag, so they create skimpy hardware with a casual focus and doubled down on the Kinect which hardcore gamers hated, and guess what they are still picking up the pieces of that whole fiasco.
Ono thinks that he has us, and that since this whole “Gamergate” thing he thinks that there is a group of people who will buy the game with these changes. Yeah right. We all know they had no intention of ever buying it but they get off on small “victories” like this but will still refuse because Mika has too much cleavage.
