All heās saying is heās at the top in the area, and heād get smacked around all day against the japanese. Because they are law? No. Because theyāre gods? No, because they have better access to more great players than we do. Until console version is released, we wonāt have nearly the same ability to reach our potentials. That makes no sense Mike. Please explain to me how the guy who won the tournament also managed to do so when 2/3 of the people there were better than him. Was it just a strange night? Snow make the game play differently? Must have been a pretty wierd tournament when a guy in the bottom 1/3 of skill level (according to you) managed to fight his way into the finals and win.

SBO and EVO, one of the true reasons we have been losing to japan in the past is not because our ability to play is shitty compared to theres. It always came down to nerves of steel. Defeating our minds and bringing confidance to oursevls and not cracking under pressure. Japanese guys are like robots, they do what works and dont put any emotion into it. Now we are at 2k9 and people are WAY the fuck hungry. You HONESTLY think japan is going to fuckin come in here and clean sweep the US? PLEASE!!
We have NEVER been in the situation where EVERY game has gotten replaced by something new, people know the routine, everything is online and on console. The race has never been more even in our precious genre. Iām sorry Mike, but I feel like that everytime Dan posts in this thread, he gets treated like an outsider and I donāt think he deserves that. I didnāt mean to be condescending, but there is no reason to say that Dan beat someone even though they were better than him. Thatās like saying he didnāt deserve to win, or that he got lucky, and thats condescending.

At coleās second to last post^^^That, and Japan has way more access to great players at hundreds of well-maintained arcades. Nerves of steel or not, there are more players playing more over there. More practice, more beastage. Japanese street fighter puts it on display. Not jocking the japs, just saying we donāt have the same access they do yet. When console comes out, perhaps itāll be all American at Evo finals. But not yet.
Edit: I agree with Brent. Dan is treated poorly most of the time he tries to reach out to the Seattle SFIV scene. And if Brentās post was condescending, Mikeās was three times as condescending.

I think everyone when they finally got to meet him, had lots of respect for him and all the guys he beat greatly look forward to the next time to play and challenge him.
