SFIV in Tacoma now!

at least you all got more of a heads up on stuff like that than portland crew, but after console comes out we’ll be quite a better challange

Taken from the HD Remix thread

Both my dude.

so whos going tonight? i miss pho and kickin it yall niggas. no homo. im off at 6pm so i can get there earlier

Want me to spot you if Mike and I end up going? What’s the word on Cole and Josh? I was stun for 10 hour when nobody showed up last week.

Edit: ^-- Nice psychic reply to my question, Josh.

Nolan I wanted to say real quick that my aim is: ewhsdavism. I’m also thinking about just hitting up gameworks tonight because I have a time limit as to how long I can be out, so Narrows might be a no go for me.

At the same time, I MIGHT make a possible exception for tonight and the time limit

I have confirmation that Cole will be coming as well! I feel that Phoenix Down right about now

MONDAY NIGHT FIGHTS back to life!!!

MNF niggas. Back in effect word up.

lol I’m using Street Fighter 4 Guile as my av but I haven’t played Street Fighter 4 yet… One of these days…

Bill Walton, one of these days, the Gods will smile upon you, and you will play SFIV until six in the-SIX IN THE MO-NIN!

So what you gonna do, sheeeeiiit.

should get you some Comcastic internet! in reference to your sig obviously.

Whoa, what a coincidence. My dad’s name is Bill Walton. His full name is William Clark Walton. :bgrin:

Okay, what are you guy’s thoughts on Akuma?

So far in SFIV I only play Akuma (I don’t like Balrog’s style in SFIV, and I would use Dictator but I keep accidentally teleporting when I mean to ultra, wtf??) So I am using Akuma, and he’s WAY less bullshit than he is in ST Remix.

For example, yeah he has a double air fireball, but it’s an EX move, which means if you spam those you will never use his super, which is his un-avoidable demon rush.

He has setups after the air FB, but people can trade hits with air FB, aka, knock akuma out of the air, get hit by the FB, and then you’re both at Neutral. This is literally impossible in Remix where it acts much more “shield like” than in SFIV. He has no guaranteed 50/50 after the Air FB like he does in remix, and throwing after the air FB is MUCH harder.

His DP sucks BALLS compared to his Remix version, it’s 10x safer to jump in against him.

In both games lames who don’t actually know what they’re doing will spam Air FB, but in SFIV you can just SADC all of them and build hell meter super fast, and have a big advantage. In ST there is nothing CLOSE to this benefit for the defender.

^He’s still a bitch.

Any input from someone whose opinions on videogames matter?

I SPD for free.

Dragon Punches in general “suck” 10x more then ST, but I think thats for the best. Who would think that a jumping uppercut should actually hit on the FIST, instead of in a giant square covering the whole body. It like an actual move that has to be aimed now.

His air fireballs in this game are incredibly easy to get around for some reason to. They don’t seem to control as much space as they appear to, which is great and I hope they keep it the same in the console version.

I think we will end up seeing some crazy amazing play with Akuma once people have the time to crack this game open and eat it’s gooey center (what?). The damage he takes really is terrible, which makes some of his match-ups “absolutely do not get hit” matches, but he has some incredible combos, mixups and possibly the best run-away in the game, so I think its well worth it.

Red Fireball is also great if you can find away to make it viable. Maybe I am just to in love with that thing.

I like Akuma in HD Remix. :bgrin: In my opinion he’s fair. I’m glad they changed his air fireball that spans accross the screen. Man that stuff was nuts.

Akuma is buff as hell man. In my professional opinion, you will find that in due time the shoto list goes like this: Ken (high tier), Akuma (top of mid or possibly high tier), Ryu (mid tier). He’s not quite as good as Ken, but he does have more tools then Ryu.

Akuma has the tools to run away and rush down, however I feel as if he is a character that a player has to be dedicated to. Unlike characters like Sagat, Bison, Zangief…you won’t be able to just pick up Akuma and expect to wreck shop…you’ve gotta get that finesse down. He’s got the tools to take out anyone in the game, however you are going to need to put in the time with him. Akuma is a character that, if you want to be good with him and play at top level with him, he’s going to need to be your main character…someone who you learn the in’s and outs of.

As an Akuma player you are going to need solid execution, and the ability to read an opponent’s thoughts and tendencies during a match. I can’t stress to you how important it is going to be for you to read an opponent’s thoughts during a match.

Thats my 2 cents.

Shoryukens are great in SFIV. SFIV has been the only game ever where I’ve WANTED to trade during an uppercut instead of landing a clean hit because I will be rewarded for it somehow.

BTW, I’ve never been hit out of Akuma’s fierce uppercut if done deeply enough. That’s just my experience though. I’ve been hit out of Ken’s a lot, but it seems as you’d have to do strong shoryu with him if not ex.
