SFIV in Tacoma now!

Last night’s session was one of the funner/goofier ones. Fuerte fever and shit, almost half of the rotation was picking him hahah.

^ good to hear.

An ELF player won the recent tourney so I expect many people to jump on his nuts.

I’m going to try to make it to Tacoma on Monday instead of Gameworks to get my learn on. What time are people normally there? I get the impression that most folks show up later in the evening; I’d only be abel to play from 6/7PM (depending on traffic) to 11PM. Are people playing then in the early evening, or is Monday mostly a late-night thing?

go around 9-10 and you will see people there.

People start getting there at around 8, but shit doesn’t get hype until about 11. 11 to 2 was crazy.

Crazy people starting walking into the arcade to. Narrows is the place you can count on for random stuff to happen.

Mickey and Trace once said that the Russia level in SFIV reminds them of how the level reminds me of you.

Crazy huh?

Hahahah, I think we both said that exact thing…I think the quote was like:

“This song always reminds me of Mandel, saying that it reminds him of Brent.”

I’ll be there at around 7 o clock or so.

Hahah nice to know I bring hype haha (I’m always there after 11pm)

Cool, thanks for the info. Maybe a solid hour or two of short-rotation beasting each week is just what I need to learn this damn game :wgrin:

Hey do you guys have a set date for the December regional at Narrows? Cause a lot of the BC guys have been bugging me about a date so they can set their calendars!

we’re really curious if you guys play on american setups or not for the tourney, because we play on jap stick only

I’m pretty sure the regional will be on Dec 6th. We play on American sticks with convex buttons.

well i guess i am OKAY on american sticks…please dont tell me its also american layout

I’m not too sure what you mean by American layout, but it’s not a Japanese cabinet if that’s what you’re wondering =/. Two American standard standup cabinets.

i think he’s reffering to the button layout. I can’t remember if it’s japanese style (VF hori stck, T5 hori stick setup) or not, for some reason I want to say that it is??

Buttons are japanese layout

if it’s japanese button layout then i think i’m down along with moe powell, cuz i cant really play when the buttons are really far apart of each other in a perfectly straight line lol

GGs last night, making the trip was definitely worth it*. I had been afraid for a while that the rotations at Tacoma would be longer than at GW, but that was definitely not the case; best-of-three really helps keep things moving. Now I wish I had been coming all this time!

*Excluding how I discovered the hard way when going home that there is a 40MPH speed zone randomly in the middle of WA-16. Oops.

The videos from the last tourney (11/22) are finally up. After playing so much SUPER STREET FIGHTER 2 TURBO HIGH DEFINITION REMIX on my HORI FIGHTING STICK EX 2, I’ve come to realize how much of a beta arcade SFIV really feels like. Incomplete roster, not as many stages added (supposedly it’s a bug that won’t let you fight on certain levels UNLESS you’re about to reach those levels in arcade mode), supposed balance patches, the whole nine. I wonder if I can really play Remix until SFIV comes out on console =/.

SFIV arcade is TOTALLY beta, and the American version without battle points and shit is RIDICULOUS.

Also I heard it’s not a bug, just a “feature” about the level selects, but it was super fucking annoying to me too, cus I wanna play the African airfield stage ALL DAY.
