Good games my nigs. Although I am worried about the drop in attendance. It seems like the control panel should be routed to accommodate the comp sticks, they are HELLA short as is. Still better than how they were and I can adjust so its all good. The convex buttons alone make a huge difference. Good to see the resolution as it should be, looks fantastic.
I am finally getting a feel for this game, thanks a lot to McDizzle who has a good grasp of the game mechanics. I think I know how a good Gief works in this game after the session. I have to be more aggressive than usual since the usual ST shenanigans do not work as well in this game. I still do not agree with the craptastic ass range of Gief’s SPD. It seems like the developers did a trade off between range and priority when it comes to his command grabs. I can’t spd off ticks but I can grab people out of their normals and ex moves.
Oh man Pablo we had some fun matches man! I feel as if the game takes a whole lot of getting used to. I mean, I think I’ve heard Mandel say this before, but just to reiterate, you definitely can’t just play this game like 3s, or ST at all. It’s also unforgiving in the fact that if you don’t choose a character you really know, then boom, there goes you’re dollar. However, the game is VERY fun. I don’t know why, but I really can’t get enough of it…and when I found myself getting SPD’d to death, I found myself just PUSHING in those quarters!
I agree with you with the range of you’re SPD…but shit, do you know how many times I was doing a normal/ex move when i was getting SPD’d!? I’m sure you know, because that shit was just CRAZY. Gief is VERY strong in this game though. It’s obvious that with natural zoning (especially with hadoukens), Gief looses that scaryness about him. Nonetheless, he is sooooo strong. Zangief would walk forward, and I would just walk backwards into the corner…I’m so scared of glove, SPD.
All in all, great games guys!
Oh btw, one of the random kids that i played came up to me before I left and he was like “I would put my dollar in, but I just know i’d get my ass kicked.” I was tickled on the inside.
Good games last night Pablo, Mickey, anyone else I might’ve forgotten. The attendance was lower than normal last night, but there was still a decent amount of people playing. Maybe it was just an off night hahah. Balrog is pretty dope, headbutt to ultra is zany. Fierce headbutt seems to beat hella shit.
I got Monday through Friday off this week if anyone is gonna head to Narrows and is going by Kent, I live like 5 minutes off I-5 and would ride with you I got 5 bucks on gas hit me up!

Trace, I’ll probably be down to play some SFIV sometime this week. I have Tuesday and Wednesday off this week and am down to play Monday night, Tuesday night, or Wednesday night.
If they input that code there, all it takes to select Akuma is to either hit up (if your cursor is at the top of the select screen) or down (if you’re at the bottom).
Yeah he legit. Still takes bad damage. One thing that’s kinda wild is the fact his super is a raging demon. His ultra is a raging demon as well (better version). Doesn’t seem broken or anything. At least not yet.
So I went today, and had some really good matches, especially with this guy who used Blanka (I’ve seen him at gameworks a lot before, but I forget his name). Anyways, he had some solid shit, Blanka’s super is VERY ridiculous, and he’s got some very spammable moves.
All in all, he was at 14 wins, and I stepped up to the plate…and had the match but threw it when i forgot to block both, high and low against the super. He got his 15 matches, and I felt bad for not taking him out when I had the chance.
I finally started getting used to the dash cancel’s after specials. I was able to get Ultra’s after Dp’s a few times…but for some reason I’m having a VERY hard time clocking out Ultra’s on these sticks.
All in all GREAT matches, fella’s! Ken’s gotta get stronger. I’ll be there tomorrow.
Ok, I never post here (random lurker ftw), but did anyone go last night? (Saturday). I was there from about 8 pm-12 am, and got some good matches in. I decided to play it safe and used Ryu throughout the night. There was this one guy who had a nasty E. Honda, and another guy had a pretty good Sagat.
I haven’t been to a US arcade in forever, and playing SFIV felt so nostalgic. It felt pretty good when I had a win streak going…it was reminiscent of the good old days when I used to be a mall rat at the Alderwood mall arcade. Here I was thinking I was going to get my ass kicked the entire night, but I actually didn’t do too bad. There were so many random scrubs; I totally wasn’t expecting that. My first two victories were a bit anticlimactic 'cause people were whiffing shoryuken’s and sticking out unsafe moves like whoa (this one guy kept doing random shoryuken’s and trips. Free punish!)
Holy shit, what’s up James! You NEVER post! This is Michael (Dan’s friend)…anyways, good to see you randomly post…maybe I will see you around Tacoma some time!
