On capcomfighters, Combo said they’re looking into giving Chun a faster jump, just not as fast as it was at the location tests because it was too fast.

Innnnteresting. .2 distance is not bad, and a hell of a lot better than her f+MK kara, but how would that even work? Four kicks and then two kicks plus throw?

Tried for a while to do a Hazanshu kara, but couldn’t get it to work.
Maybe I was doing it wrong, but my inputs were Hazanshu motion (HCB) HK~LK+LP. EX Hazanshu every time.

Since we were talking about Rog yesterday, I found a semi-character specific juggle that works on him:
B + MK Target Combo -> EX Bird works mid-screen. It will hit him once if you only time it right, but will hit him 3 times if you step forward a step before executing EX SBK. Takes a little practice, but pretty good damage.
232 dmg + corner carry.
So far, it works on Dhalsim also. Does 241 damage on him.
Doesn’t work on Viper or Rufus as far as I can tell. Something interesting about Balrog is that you can also juggle one extra hit of EX Legs after the target combo because the whole series of upkicks doesn’t connect on him. It is also possible to delay the upkicks so that less hits connect, which means more juggle potential after. Couldn’t get stomps to work, though.

you have one frame to kara cancel ex legs and is so stupid fast to do naked legs to even begin to kara cancel it so i just give up
Technically you could mask the inputs in a dash. Kind of defeats the purpose of a kara throw but still.

I’ll have to practice that then… EX Legs inputs stick around for much longer than HK legs; you can input 4 kicks and still walk forward a little bit. Could be a good tick off Cr. LK or Cr. MK.
So i don’t think you can kara into throw.
But i remember long time ago in training mode i manage to record chun li doing ex legs kara into super. I remember i was seeing her clearly starting doing ex legs but before she really start she was doing her super. I didn’t do that on purpose but i started watching the record several times. After that i thought it was maybe something impossible except in training mode with always full bar.
Now i read i’m pretty sure it was a kara cancelling

Per the advice of a very competent Guy player, I am picking up Chun as an alternate or partner to Guy. I used her in Alpha and have a Chun stick (which I love) or two, so she isn’t just a secondary/tertiary character.
She’s the Queen of FGs and I have always liked her design.
While I have played FGs since the inception of SF2 in arcades (oh, the quarters!), I am most likely a low-level competitive player (working on changing that diligently.)
I’ve copy/pasted the match-ups thread (which is well composed and together, unlike the Guy mu thread, unfortunately) and will be downloading them to the mind.
I’ll mostly be lurking here, but any constructive criticism or advice is most welcome.
She doesn’t play quite like her other versions. You’ll have to work hard for your wins in SF4; footsies, aa’s, matchup knowledge all have to be on point. You’ll learn to hate divekicks and vortices if you haven’t already.
Yeah, reading through the stickies and the new matchup thread will help.
