YMMV on using any given link or tactic, but I don’t think a lot of players fish for SBK combos in general let alone when they have super available.
I still like being next to the opponent standing after MK SBK though, it forces a decision pretty much immediately and there’s a way to deal with all of the opponent’s choices, so I like out-reading them under that kind of tension. I can’t even say I’d be mad if I lost to the worst case scenario in that situation, because I deliberately chose to combo into SBK in the first place when I could’ve gone for Legs instead. I was committing to the mixup or super link as soon as I did MK SBK right?
-Yeah LK SBK needs to be tweaked in general, it’s not even consistent for getting all the hits (namely the last one that’s supposed to knock down now) when comboing from a normal other than cr. HP and if that isn’t feasible, there’s virtually no reason to use it over the others.
It doesn’t work that way. MK legs extension has it’s own set hitstun, so it’ll be +7 regardless of what you start with.
Really well that seems fair I was just working of the fact that mk legs leaves you at +4 and hk legs currently leaves you at +3 and I always assumed the hit stun from one move was transferred across to the next as the math works in this case. If that’s not the case then obviously the extra frame on hk legs is a good buff that will stay as it give chun a LOT more options
From paris chun has definetely lost her new jump, will post more later
All sbk knock down.
HP kiko doesnt have old ex kiko hitstun
Édit: ex kiko > ex legs not working on poison at all.
Didnt play enough but she’s better. But not top 10.
Oh and poison is godlike.good pokes, DP fadc, godlike ultra 1 usable as AA even from far and from DP fadc and always hit full., rekkas, ex rekkas is sj cancelable and combo even midscreen to ultra. Fast fireball recovery. She has everything.
Do you guys think we will see our old favorite top players return to chun in this new iteration of SF? Like Haneyama, Nemo, etc. Actually, maybe not Nemo since yang seems pretty good in ultra. I was too bummed that Nemo switched to even watch him play yang until very recently and wow… He… Is amazing. But I’d love to see more pros use chun now. Obviously nuki hates sf4 so that won’t happen… Sigh.
Haneyama has already been played a lot more of Chun recently, there are even a few upload of him knocking around and I imagine a lot of the older top Chun’s will at least be having a go with her again.
Nope, Nemo making too much money off MvC3 to pick up SF4 again
One report said he simply went to a loke, beat everyone with Yang/Chun-Li, then quickly left
Haven’t seen any new haneyama vids, gonna look. I’m sad about Nemo though, I always loved watching his chun. I find his play style very strict and I love that about him, I always learn a lot. Those epic vids of Nemo vs daigo from I believe vanilla… I just remember the one where Nemo just barely finishes off daigo with cr.lp into super… So cool.
Anybody sitting on some meaty regular SBK setups? I’ve been trying to find something but no luck so far.
If you manage to get hk sbk meaty they should be forced to standblock the whole thing, unless they use a crouch normal to go under it.
I’ve been using lk sbk after 3x stomp to go through them on wakeup, it makes pretty much every shoryu miss, but it’s really gimmicky lol.
Is there any chance we could get Chun to have a longer range dash? Has anyone noticed that dashing forward by tapping focus shortens her forward movement?
Since they took away the new jump from Chun, the change i would ask for is for her st.mp damage go back to the way it used to be in vanilla/super. An added 10-20 damage would really be beneficial to her in terms of controlling a match.
I came up with a few nasty setups (adon similar) with the new jump that I didn’t want to to show on stream in fear of capcom nerfing the jump in response, but they ended up doing it anyways.
I can’t really upset about it because it’s like… well I’ve been playing with the jump she has for 4+ years now and it wasn’t really on my list of requests in the first place. Like I said, I can do with or without. I’m not going to be a worse player without it.
I’m only really worried about the things I already like about her being nerfed or taken away. For the most part that hasn’t happened and she got a few improvements, so I’m happy. Uh… how much time is left before things are set in stone?
