Rufus - I don’t see a reason why this would change, and with him getting his EX Messiah fixed she loses one of the things she could do against him (up-close pressure strings with c.hp).
Viper - Same as above, nothing has really changed to make this better.
Makoto - She’s already kind of a hard 5-5, with her buffs I can see her making life hard for Chun.
Juri - Also already a hard 5-5, this fight can potentially go bad for Chun.
Cody - I kind of think this is even or maybe slight advantage Chun. He didn’t get too many buffs but I can see him fighting her evenly at the least.
Vega - He already sort of out-pokes her and plays a better mid-range game. Now he’s getting better AA. Chun could bully him until he got U2, now maybe she won’t be able to do that anymore.
Honda - Faster ultra with better startup means that she won’t really be able to fireball zone him. Also I’ve heard that Chun is one of the characters he can combo U1 off Hands into.
Cammy - I also don’t see this changing much from v2012.
Yang - with his buffs he could be a problem for Chun.
FWIW, I think they’ve already reverted the jump back to normal. I noticed that it felt the same at Capcom Cup. There was even a Capcom guy present with an official change log that said “Hey doesn’t it feel slower?” during one of my matches =/.
Getting a quick peek at the change log myself I noticed these changes (not sure if this information is widespread, if it is I apologize):
-df+rh was 2 frames faster
-spinning bird kick knocked down on hit (all strengths)
-rh legs was +1 on hit
This is on top of everything else we already know about. The jump change wasn’t listed, but I’m gonna assume that it was changed already.
RH Legs +1 on hit or +1 hitstun added? This is a significant difference and from what I tested at NEC (Combofiend mentioned a change to RH legs having +1 beforehand), it would definitely lean toward the latter because the combos I was doing wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
I was hoping for rh legs +4 on hit (might be 0 on block then).
You’ll be able to do some pretty cool stuff after focus then like:
focus, rh legs, cl.hk x rh legs, c.lp, st.hp
I really hope that her jump speed doesn’t get reverted back to the old version. That would suck big time. At least make it 3-4 frames faster than what it is in AE2012. I do welcome SBK doing a knockdown but if so, how many hits does it do before a knockdown? And, don’t get me wrong…I welcome the additional changes especially the df rh being 2 frames faster.
Verbatim the change list said +1 on hit, I personally didn’t get to test it though.
Alphachimp, the last hit of each sbk is what causes the knockdown. I hope it’s a change that Capcom decides to keep, I think it’s a nice buff. It also makes the AE2012 change of close standing fierce to rh sbk more useful.
Im starting to get really disappointed here. we lose the jump? knock down on mk sbk? id rather keep my super link, chun cant take as much advantage of knock down like other characters can and now with dwu it’s even worse.
So they just give us a better df.lk and a bit damage on ultra 2 and that’s it? look’s to me that ultra chun will be the same with more bad MU: ken, rog, rolento, poison, yang, oni and im pretty sure there are more.
Red focus is going to fuck us (lol) and dont talk about that stupid ex hazan being a breaker, a 26 frame breaker is useless, you have all the time in the world to yawn, backdash, yawn and punish, I remember reading in yun forum someone complain that they need a faster palm to be able to deal with red focus because 13 or14 frame (dont remember) palm is too slow, couldnt stop laughing our is 26 and we need meter for it.
I was so hyped about ultra, should’ve listened to azrael.
If they’re not giving chun something clearly new like the jump im not going to buy it, they’ve fucked the other character i play (guy) the same way. they bait us with amazing announcement like elbow drop not whiffing on low profile and target combo mp>hp connecting from far and in the end we get nothing.
I use mk sbk, and the super link is nice to finish a round and it’s one of the most damaging combo we have and the +2 is nice on some match up, IF CAPCOM WANTED to give us that knock down, they could’ve put it in the 2 other sbk that are almost useless, like lk and up it damage, or hk and lower it startup. Are you going to say that having 2 usable sbk is OP so they needed to change it?
Anyway that’s not what we needed or asked, we need a working juggle to ultra 1, better cr.mk, a non floaty jump, better stomps
Oh and can someone test if hp kikoken>> focus lvl2 is a combo now that ex kiko is no longer usable for that or they’ve fucked that combo too?
I can’t remember the last time I saw a chun use sbk-super. She already has numerous other ways to combo into it and I think the best use for super is as a punish anyway.
Sbk knocking down is a good thing - losing the super link isn’t a big deal.
I want that fast jump to come back though
And fix the ultra juggle already… it amazes me that hasn’t been fixed since vanilla.
