I never even considerd getting a knockdown on mk SBK. That would be pretty awesome actually.
Sad to hear about her jump though.
Maybe only HK sbk should be the only knockdown. Lk and mk sbk should not do knockdowns.
I’d be fine with the LK and HK versions knocking down, but I think MK SBK should stay as is. I use it specifically for the super link or the 50/50 afterward (am I the only person who* likes* this?). Otherwise comboing into Lighting Legs and an ender instead is going to be more damage, stun and meter. Super is the only way you can get more overall damage after MK SBK and it knocking down wouldn’t really serve as much of a benefit since you can just combo into a knockdown after Lightning Legs anyway.
Any other sources that state that she isn’t getting the faster jump buff? This has been bothering me, as it’s the change I was most looking forward to. It sucks that something like that would be taken away after getting Chun players excited about the change.
I just watched NEC and her faster jump was still intact…I’m not sure if Capcom Cup came first or NEC. Can someone confirm?
Capcom Cup happened about a week after NEC.
ultra post Sbk knockdown possibilities?
Works if they give the last hit similar stats to ex sbk (0.07 vertical velocity), but that seems pretty unlikely. If it’s less vertical (0.07-0.04), you can insert an ex legs to lift em up, but I still think that’ll probably be out of the question. Gets even more unlikely when you factor in that it’s probably not going to be a spinning knockdown like that (I couldn’t get non-spinning knockdowns to work with any realistic looking values for the vertical velocity).
I’ve decided to stop playing Chun. I never really liked her as a charge character, but it’s still Chun… you know.
She was already only my secondary, but after today I realized I’m just not able to play her well as a charge character.
I lost to a (really bad) flowchart Ken, and if that wasn’t bad enough, he sent me hate mail (why do people do that when they win?) saying ‘I’ was a flowchart Chun.
That really sealed the deal for me. If I can’t even beat a horrible Ken player I shouldn’t touch the character anymore.
I lost to a notoriously bad Ken online (i.e. he’s actually famous for his bad play)… I ain’t sweatin it.
If charge character play isn’t something you like though, then that’s understandable. I play both motion and charge and Chun’s always been a mix between the two, so I don’t mind either way (as long as LLs isn’t as stupid as it was in SFxT with that motion input).
command chun is stupid
I wouldn’t sweat it… I just lost to a bad ken that I literally could predict every next move he was going to make. I often hope people are smart enough to mix up their tactics and I end up losing and being the dumb one for it (also noteworthy, fell for a random ultra). I’m the opposite though, since getting into chun I can’t seem to handle any character that isn’t charge haha!
I’ve lost to bad Kens as well. Sometimes you give the opponent too much respect and don’t expect them to scrub out and you lose for it. Especially playing a low-vitality character with precision offense. We all have those losses where you shouldn’t have lost but you do anyway, it happens.
I lost to a derply Ken’s f+mk just the other week (Malv knows what I’m talking about lol), because I underestimated the range and had the wrong counterpoke in mind. :looney:
Just take your L’s, learn, and move on
It wasn’t just that one loss, it was more that loss being the final straw for me.
With Chun I lose to characters/players that I have no problem beating otherwise.
I just suck using her as a charge character, after all these years of playing SF4 I’ve finally accepted it lol.
if you have problem with flowcharts ken, then you deff are doing something terrible
How is losing a game online any reason to drop a character ever?
If that’s all it takes then you might as well give up all together.
Well if she’s doing better with other characters because it meshes well with how she plays, then it’s not that bad an idea to switch. I’ve made that switch in this series and some other fighting game series (with SF4 Chun actually being one of the characters I switched to) just because the character(s) work out so much better with the way I prefer to play and lead to better results, more fun and a lot less frustration, so I say go for it. But don’t give up playing all together. Shoot, you can even just try to hone your skills with a few characters and play whichever one the matchup should work out best for.
Dropping a character you like is a pretty tough decision, but sometimes it is the best choice in the long run (unless every other character just bores you out of your mind).
ill never drop chun tho
Just to be clear, I’m not quitting the game, and it wasn’t one bad loss that made me stop playing Chun. That particular match just made me realize something I should have realized much sooner; I suck at using Chun as a charge character.
It’s a really difficult decision for me to drop Chun. I’ve used her in every SF I’ve played, starting with SF2.
But at one point you have to be honest to yourself, and admit that even though you like a character, they just don’t fit right.
I’ll definitely pick her up again in a fighting game where she is a motion character.
