Yeah, but later in the video Combofiend states that they picked 3 things for the 10 charakters to tell, but that there are a ton of changes more for everyone of them.

And in the part, where he discusses the Rufus changes, he mentiones, that the Ex-messiah fix was the most requested thing and that they sureley fixed it.
I suppose Ultra 1-fix was the most requested thing for Chun…

Changes seem decent, although some comments on here aren’t true are they? I hope not like a jump change or changes to her Ultra etc… I see advantages and disadvantages to Kikoken… In general I don’t think Chun will suddenly leap up the tier list given the other characters changes seem pretty good as well (even Cammy’s). Still new characters means new match ups to learn and new characters to try (I’ll give Poison a go if she has a similar style and level of safeness that she has in Strekken).
Fun seeing Lexy on stream and gratz to any Chun’s that got out of pools (did any? lol)
Most of the characters that would drop U1 in a juggle would be characters that you’d probably use U2 on. If you’re using U1 on those characters, it’s for punish purposes mainly, and if that’s working, they aren’t very good players to not read you for that.
Personally, that’s welcome news for me, because I’m very Hazanshu heavy to begin with. I’ll be using that more than a lot of people in the Chun forums.
Honestly, I never used EX before this news. Now, it’s definitely got a use in my arsenal.
EDIT: Also, someone was saying earlier that they thought they saw Chun’s jump as less floatier than before. That’s yet another welcome change.

because there´s a loctest before the final release of the game and in case you forgot the last time we lost a couple of “new changes” so until i have the godamn game im not buying any of these changes at all.
and even then the only mu that we really need u1 is gouki and not for a full juggle but for punishing air fireballs, so i would rather take fully fireball inv frames all day instead of more hits at the end of some combo… in the fucking corner.
Well, I use u1 in every matchup that isn’t against a divekick character, so for me having u1 work in the corner would be a huge buff. There are more uses for it than just punishment, it makes st.mp a much greater threat even when you don’t have super, and since Chun has some of the best normals in the game I prefer using an ultra that makes that part of her even more threatening.
If they made ex legs move forward more I would concider switching to U2 for more matchups, but the way it is right now it’s not worth it because you have to be in their face or landing j.hp~hp anti air to get that damage out.
I use U1 in all but 5 matchups, so it’s important to me for it to juggle on every character. Even if they don’t give up the punishable moves all the time, I like forcing them to play around it. It throws off a lot of people’s games and lets me maintain control in that area. But having access to the juggle in case I have to be more proactive to land it is a plus.
Also, I don’t see the point in downplaying it only being a corner juggle. That’s a great position to take advantage and pressure people and it only gets even more threatening when you have access to that much extra damage off of an easier confirm.
Plus it’s just tacky for it not to work fully on 19 out of 39 characters. And there’s no rhyme or reason to it. No balance sense. Nothing. She just happens to be kicking past those characters because she’s slightly under them and her hitbox isn’t wide enough on the last kick before the launch, so they just fall. They’re just being lazy like with Sagat’s U1 juggle in the corner and they should’ve fixed them a long time ago.
I agree Darklight, I just don’t see the reasoning behind somone using a character not wanting something like U1 corner juggle fixed by now, I mean it wasn’t such a big deal in Vanilla when it worked on about half the cast, but since Vanilla they’ve added a lot of characters and it works on almost none of them…
I can see why some people prefer U2, but U1 has way more utility it’s just that you have to go the extra mile to get the most out of it. But anyone that plays Chun should get used to having to go the extra mile to get the most out of this character by now
I probably also only use U2 for a handful of matchups. Not as few as 5, but definitely fewer than 10. Off the top of my head, Viper, Yun, Yang, Rufus, Ibuki, and Guy I always pick U2. Depending on the player, sometimes I pick U2 for Cammy, Dudley, Gen and El Fuerte. So that’s basically another 30 characters I use U1 for.
And in those matchups where I use U1, if I get a corner juggle opportunity, I would use U1 if it would full juggle.
In fact even in some of those matchups where I use U2, I’d consider switching to U1 if they corner juggled properly.
Sorry someone just clarify are they changing her jump speed and arc cos I kinda hope not as its one of her defining features and a change like that is also a lot of relearning of set ups and safe jumps and what not… Where is the confirmation of the jump change as I’ve read it in 3 different forums from random posters
