SFIII 3rd Strike (SUPERCADE/GGPO/nFBA,etc) Palmod palettes fair

very impressive!

Thx working on some Alex now. Just trying to see if any of them are too similar to any of the older ones first.

Has anybody ever did Gillā€™s colors on all the characters are is it impossible.

Only Urien and Gill have split left and right colours like that, so unless you had Ken with a yellow top and red bottoms then impossible Iā€™m afraid

Amazing work as always, LET. The alex ones are soooooo beautiful. I love your work. Your passion really comes out in their designs. You know what youā€™re doing.

Bump, Iā€™ve been working on a ryu stage edit. Iā€™m looking for an opinion on which is better.

1

or

2

Both of those look pretty trippy, do you have a full view of the stages? Going by those images alone, Iā€™d probably go with the first one, that just being personal preference.

No.2 looks nice  I take it itā€™s a sun-set scene youā€™re creating? No.2 just looks later in the evening than No.1.

First one!
Maybe itā€™d be better with a less flashy blue for the sky?

iā€™ve really appreciated the new Alex colors :).

Jed, I prefer the first one, but the second one looks like a good idea, eventhought I find it too strong for my tastes.
Is that photoshop mods or actual in game shots ?

Actual screenshots, since I prefer to use Palmod the executable instead of Esnā€™s tools. Right now, Iā€™m just trying to find a middle ground of the two. I like the sky of the second one more.

thats dope

First stage edit looks more natural to me, while still being a cool ā€œalternateā€.

Fair play for working around palmod with these! Alien and I had a play in PSDs and itā€™s still really hard, we decided itā€™s best to adjust each stage a little and see what kind of effects you can get - yours look good though. A lot of the time they do end up looking like the same stage at a different time of day or season, which is quite cool I think.

I prefer the first, but I also reckon if the 2nd was more red/orange (than magenta) it would look like a convincing sunset and would then be my favourite

Also, nice Alexs! Iā€™ve got Yang on the way but Iā€™ve been soooo busy lately, nice to see updates here! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hopefully third time is the charm. This my favorite so far.
I havenā€™t done the shadow/super yet.

and opinions please.

Hey, looks pretty nice to me ^^
Iā€™m impressed with the temple, but Iā€™m still not convinced with the sky.
Ryuā€™s temple is really a pain to me, so Iā€™m that much impressed by your mod !

You really may be a lot better off using photoshop+ESN site, well, at least that would be easier for you to achieve something.

Also, the background doesnā€™t exist without the characters on it, and original colors for the chars are too bright for your edit and donā€™t match, so itā€™s hard to judge.

Iā€™m out of time for now, but I can try and help you if you need some pointers for the photoshop + ESN method.
keep it up !

I still like the first one.

Nice one Jed! itā€™s definitely better - but I do agree the sky doesnā€™t match the tint of the sunset somehow.
I found the hardest thing with these stage edits is keeping the black balance down, because as soon as they get too dark it makes the characters look separated. So, maybe it needs more range in the black.

This stage is really hard to edit though - itā€™s certainly better than my effort which was quite laughable. I think the red and green balance is really nice, just maybe the shadows are too dark and the sky too blue still.

Iā€™m no expert on colour theory - but I guess if the white of the castle walls is pinkish, that would need a burning sky, but having it too much the same colour will look odd - so maybe try and deep orange or something? I donā€™t know, these things are hit and miss with me - but I agree with Alien I found it SO much easier to edit in photoshop, then flatten and use ESNā€™s tool. Photoshop is great for quick layer edits like that.

Capcomā€™s artists make it look easy, when you look at Alex and Kenā€™s stages, plus Yun and Yangā€™s. In SFIII 2nd impact they made more changes, but I really miss that shifted time of day effect in between rounds. If we can pull it off with these, itā€™ll be awesome!

[EDIT] - when is this stupid site going to fix the double-post error? Itā€™s been how long now? Mr.Wizard is happy to take money from premium members but all I see lately is mods (esp K) making themselves feel big and no fixes. Get it together maybe?
