i read this whole thread from the get go til now, all over again - and i still can’t seem to understand how to customize projectiles? any help?
added a new hugo to the previous post. all info there.
nars, to edit projectile gets trickier.
Adding them to PALMOD is easy, but you won’t have a preview. That’s why I didn’t add any info about it so far.
I’ll tell you how to do it here, but I’m too busy to answer any further question, mate, but maybe someone esle will be more helpful if you need more in depth info. Anyways, here it is :
-
Q : How to add other objects into PALMOD ?
-
A : create a .txt file named “sfiii3e.txt” (without quotes of course) and put it in the same folder as your PALMOD executable.
Then, in this file, add hex values of where the desired palette’s address starts and ends in the following form :
name
0x00address begining
0x00address ending
examples :
Ryu fireball
0x00704B02
0x00704B3C
Oro Yagyou+Fireball
0x00706280
0x00706300
save your file, and open PALMOD, your extras will be listed after Yun, but won’t feature any preview.
Note that if you made an invalid entry in your txt file (like a bad address), palmod won’t start
now, how do you find extras addresses ???
you can use the ones that we painfully found ourselves and added to ESN’s database, or you can even search for others that ain’t listed right now, using the same tools on ESN’s page if you feel like helping.
I can’t explain how to use these tools as it would require much time to write enough to cover the subject, but it is very self explanatory.
Again, someone else than me may help you if you can’t figure it out by yourself.
Thanks, Alien Nose Job.
I’ll try to hop on it ASAP. It sounds fun! So, regardless of what character’s extra I’m doing - it’ll show under Yun?
Sorry, I just wanted to clarify that. Thanks again dude.
I made some new Gouki’s recently. They’re based on different Shin Gouki’s that were used throughout the years, along with a design of my own.
Top left is Alpha style, top right is CvS2 style, bottom left is SvC Chaos, and the bottom right is a custom style. Rather than post the codes for them, I neatly bundled ACT files all in one folder. It includes the main palettes and the portraits.

They’re all essentially edits of the Alpha one, but whatever. They look different enough. Any feedback?
Nice Goukis Mala, very original, not seen any like that before.
Classic colours look awesome Alien, real real nice. You flatter me about the Makoto but I do think it can be improved on it looks more saturated than the others. I like the Oro best.
I made a classic style Shin Gouki some time back for Dark Stealth, I said I’d post it so the code is below.

Thanks. I also made two more. One is Evil Ryu, which I think someone already made, and Violent Ken. I’m going to edit Evil Ryu, cause I think I messed up on the upper half of his gi.
Here’s the download link:

I fixed Evil Ryu’s gi.
Here’s the new code:
("a00000000E71CC618A5148410630C42082104C618A51484108410630C420842081F001D00E71CC618A5148410630C630C4208E71CC618A514841084108410630C56180E10793A182EB5217319F108AF002D00793A39327331F128AF206D100B08EC0CCA0CA80886082925C6187725F7141600130010000D000600A51484104208)
I see what you mean, could you copy and paste the top gi to the bottoms to make them stand out more? There are two pixels that are the edges of where the belt meets the gi - they are those white speckles you have there at the moment, unless they were deliberate. Nice patch though, I especially like the hint of green on Ken’s skin-looks cool!
Thanks. I didn’t know how to get rid of those few pixels at first. But I solved that problem. Here’s the codes, if anybody cares. No pictures though, cause all I did was fix the belt and made both halfs of the gi the same.
Evil Ryu:

Violent Ken:

It took me forever to find the right shade for Ken’s hair and skin. Also, I have a a few Dudley’s and Q’s i’m gonna upload. Haven’t seen much of them around this topic.
I did.
I reedited him since, though, as I made it back in the days of the old palmod.
I’ve done Evil Ken too a while back, but not released yet.
I’ll release them sometimes later as I need to finish all the shotos at once first.
Nice ones, though !
Thanks. Knew someone else made them. Anyways, here’s some of those Dudley’s I promised. I tried to make him look like Mario, due to the fact that they both have overalls and moustaches. After that, I edited some colors to make him look like Luigi, Wario, and Anorexic Anti-Luigi for poor people. Can’t remember his name, but that’s what I always call him.
Nothing really special. Here’s the download link:

Just finished first version of web tool to record all custom palettes in a same place:
http://ensabahnur.free.fr/ModifiedPalettesDB/index.php
Basically, you can add, update or delete a palette, using the palmod code (ctrl + C on palette grid) and link it to a already recorded entry of http://ensabahnur.free.fr/ROM_51_SearchColor/updatePalette.php
Update will keep trace of old values, you can see them for each update by clicking on the blue “H”).
Same thing with delete.
No lost data.
I didn’t yet code the patch part, it will be ok probably next week…
If you find any bug, please contact me here or by PM ^^
PS: interface colors are crappy, i’m aware of that!
ESN has done it again - thanks man! I’m committed to doing stage edits as tedious as it may be but I have a plan for it once I have all the characters done.
cool !
I’ll try it later.
talk to you later (both of you)
hey all !
double post because this is important.
I’m gonna try to add a full tutorial about ESN’s tools as they became an important part of PALMOD use now.
I realize I should have added info on the extras a long time ago (I added very basic info about it the other day after someone hopefully asked).
But I realize we need more if we want to let people make the full jump into editing the game.
So I’m gonna try to add info-tuto about ESN’s tools, at least at first copy paste and organize the few things that we exchanged here and there in the pages of this thread.
here’s the base material I’m gonna use :
LET and myself about colours and light
there must be another post where I say something about colour that LET must be replying about I think must not be far.
Well, not only ESN’s but also the way LET told us to work (opening two PALMODs at the same time with two different versions of the 51 file) are the kind of useful stuff I should add to the first post.
I am extremely busy at the moment and it takes time, so if any one feels like helping me out by writing something simple and clear, you are welcome.
'later
Niiiiiinjaaaaaaaaaaaa !
hey, made these just for the kicks, would need work to be done right, but I thought it was fun enough, enjoy !

Just finished on the fly rom 51 generation with stored palettes…
Basically, select all needed palettes, go on patch process page (left menu, second link), patch, then download rom 51!
