SFII: Hyper Fighting (Xbox 360)

I’ll be on as well. I’ll be using the pad since I haven’t been able to find a doa 4 stick in any of the 6 EB/GS stores near me.Take no mercy on me though I’ll try the best I can to win.

I’ll be online. Going to make tomorrow a half day at the office, then press some buttons when I get home.

The tag is Zeruel99, and I will most likely be hosting quarter matches (30Mb down/4Mb up). I’d think that anyone connecting to my node will be in good shape. Just need to pick up a better router on the way home from work.

Looking forward to some actual use of the DOA4 stick and chattin’ up with other SFers on the internets…

How the hell do you get a 4Mb upstream? And why don’t anyone play AE anymore?

I still think it will be no more than a slightly modified version of the POS1. In spite of this, I may have to bite the bullet and spend the $10 to play.

Name is agentz

Look forward to playing everyone, but the first mother fucker that pulls when they lose, I’m going to track down and kill

That’s a pretty tight net connection you’ve got there! I’m lookin’ forward to it too. My gamer tag is in my profile. I’ll probably be doin’ the quarter match thing when I get home from work.

BTW, does anyone know what time they put these new games up each week? It’d be nice to get a game or two in before I head in to work tomorrow. Or, if they put it up at midnight…well, even better :wgrin:

OH SNAP!!! I just looked it up. According to this:

They release the games at 0800 GMT. That’s in 4 hours and 38 minutes! Looks like I’ll be up a bit late tonight :bgrin:

Is this going to be available to download at midnight or what? Just curious.
Also, Xbox Live Tag is VENOM22.

EDIT : Nevermind…just saw the post above mines. =/

Hey Phil,

My ISP offers a “boost” service for an additional $15 a month. The regular speeds are 15Mb down/1Mb up, and frankly that’s not good enough for me. Pushing images to work suck and downloading a 10GB file would take about 2 hours. Now I do more than that in one hour.

Everything downloads pretty quickly from the Marketplace now. Is that just me or did Microsoft patch the dashboard?

I’ve been hopping on to AE here and there, but my time to play seriously has dwindled a bit. Lag does throw me off and frustrates me, but I do see more of my holes and am trying to get around my own weaknesses. I now play SF on a standard 32" TV because my HD set is a DLP and I see the lag (game plays at a fixed 480p. My HDTV is 1080i native) after coming back from Evo. I’m holding out a tiny bit of hope that the lag will be minimal, but I know from a technical standpoint it’s damn near impossible unless all points are running over fiber.

Someday kids, someday… See y’all tomorrow afternoon in Quarter Matches…

The reason why netplay from both Capcom and SNK left a lot to be desired, is simply because both companies are a joke compared to what they used to be.

Look at Blizzard games (a high end WC3 or SC player will have action-per-minute comparable if not exceed 2D fighters), established FPS’s like Battlefield 2 (there is a hell lot more going in a 32 vs 32 match). I know people will say “fighting games are SPECIAL”. Hell no, look at DOAU and DOA4 and how lightyears it is ahead of SF2:Anniv in netcode.

2D fighter you said? How about ZBATTLE for ZSNES? It is pathetic a homebrew app has better netcode than most of the crap Capcom/SNK offerings so far. I used to be a Capcom/SNK lover, but I have seen the light and companies like Blizzard that actually care about their products and consumers deserve to leave them in the dust.

Trust me I really wish they can do it right. A strong SF2HF will actually be one of the reasons for me to get a 360, but I lost faith.

Hitman, I’ve wondered myself why netplay with 2D fighters has traditionally been mediocre when other games like you’ve mentioned cope well. If it’s truly a matter of poor implementation, hopefully someone will get it right soon.

Those that do play it tomorrow, write up a review on the netplay if possible.

Uhh…I always thought that Microsoft was just offering them low-budget, sucky servers or just giving them low bandwidth. Like Hitman said, Dead or Alive is (usually) lagless to the point where it’s almost completely on-par with offline play. I just think that everyone else is just being stingy bastards :stuck_out_tongue:

Either that or there might be issues with the Xbox itself.

Wtf It’s 12 19 And No Hyper Fighting

I thought CFE and KOF2k3 ran a lot better than the other online 2d fighters. They werent the best games though.

Murt it should be up at 1 am pst

That’s because we’re on daylight savings time. It’s supposed to be released at 0800 GMT. So, in theory, we have 17 minutes and 30 seconds to go…

It’s up bitches! I’ll see ya online :woot:

I’m downloading right now.

FUCK! Fuck fuck fuck! I see people on my Friends List playing it and I’m stuck at work. FUUUUUUUUUCK.

If any UK guys want to play, my gamertag is Ive Been Jipped. You’ll have to send a message beforehand though cos my Friends List is full…

Looks like Capcom finally got its act right. So far people from GFAQ say there is little to no lag whatsoever, wow, I may look into a 360 afterall. Any pad/stick recommendations?

Definitely some early good news. Maxstah and Decoy, would love to get your take on the lag since you both played on Zbattle. I apologize for the upcoming noob questions:

1)Can you use an original xbox controller on X360?
2)Are there any adapters (ps2/saturn, etc) for the X360?
3)Assuming you have an XbLive account, do you need to purhcase a Live360 account/subscription card or does it transfer over?

Thanks and hope to pick up a 360 to play some of you guys again :wgrin:

  1. no
  2. no
  3. your account transfers over
