Whenever you are ready mr flowers. Anytime after 5pm central time. We can knockout both character matches. Just pm me I guess

Send Mr Flowers a Friends Request on the PSN. He signed up for the League over on STREETFIGHTER4FORUMS.com. I’m not sure if he is on these forums tho.

Be sure to get his complete PSN name: MR_FLOWERS_-

Ok I’ll do that. Thanks.

Hey BRUTAL

Forgot to mention MR_FLOWER_- is also from the UK. So we have two members total.

Great. We’ll be lucky to get 2 bars. :frowning: anyone have advice on playing a laggy gen match? I’ll let u guys know how it goes, but if they can’t get 3bars or better I don’t think u can let them in the league. IMO

Ultimately, it’s up to them. No one has ever quit or not joined the League due to lag issues. If they don’t think they can compete fairly with other players, then I believe they would quit versus losing all their matches.

Of course, lag issues could be a lot of things from the PSN (unlikely), connection (possibly), or your internet service speed (most likely).

When I sparred with SAMBI92, we had a good connection of 3 bars (yellow).

Speed is not the issue. Latency and line stability are most important. Also some people don’t realize there is a problem because different characters are affected by lag differently. Zangief is very lag friendly, where as most charge characters have more difficulty in a lag game. Of course if it is terrible I’m sure they will quit. But if it is just bad they may not. But I guess we cross that bridge when we get there.

Vietnamazing lived up to his name and destroyed me 2-0, 2-0. I have never felt so inadequate. Except maybe when my Fuerte played SBL21’s boxer.

 GGs earlier. Obviously my RYU and Sagat need lots of work though. See ya soon, I’m sure.

Hey dude I recently moved address so I’ve been offline. My internet at home is due on this friday the 4th. Hope to do our laggy bouts this weekend. I’ll be on the whole weekend catchign up with SF4 cos I miss it sooo much lol.

How do you subscribe to a topic on this forum? Anyone?

EDIT: lag really kills Sakura as her BnB has a 1 frame link! eeep!

Thread tools is where you find the subscribe menu I believe. I’m really only free during the week. So I guess we will do it next week. Let me know when you have Internet and we can set the time.

Sakura has other issues besides her 1 frame link. But yes anyone other than gief basically will have to make adjustments for lag. Just charge characters can’t just pound out a move until it comes out. They just lose their charge and sit there like an idiot. LoL.

So how do we sign up

Just let me know. Give me your two fighters you want to use in League matches (be mindful that you cannot change characters once you begin playing without penalty). Also, you can only choose one of the Shoto characters (Ken/Ryu/Akuma). I’ll then add you to the League for Week 13, which will begin next Friday, Sept 11.

Also, I’ll send you a PSN Friends Request & keep you updated.

Good luck getting your matches done, MR FLOWERS and SBL21. Sounds like they will be very competitive.

I’ve just posted a new video to the SFCCL website of my match with REFRAXION (my Ken vs. his C. VIPER).

Rufus and Sagat

So it looks like the only way to move up divisions is by the monthly inter-division battle. Another way would to promote the division champ to the 16 spot of the next division up once he wins 2 battles as champion and move the 16 guy down to champ or #1 contender of the lower league or whatever. This would allow for gradual progression instead of trying to make only big jumps during the inter-division battles. Just my thoughts. I mean it’s great to jump a whole 16 spots at once. But the champ of the bronze division may be better than all players in the silver division below the 5th position, but he can’t beat the champ, so he never moves up. See my point?

I see SBL21’s point but that way moves kinda slow. How about instead of that the top 4 or so players in a division move up and the bottom 4 move down taking the spots of the guys that moved up. That way every division gets new people to play often and the better players can move up to the divisions they should be in quickly.

I like Rammy’s suggestion. Do this shit Premiership style. Is there a point system in place? If not, there should be. Of course, I’m not the one doing the calculations so…

Was t saying to eliminate the interdivisional battles. Just keep that and add the progressive model too. There is no reason not to do both. So u have a steady progression along with possibile bigger jumps here and there.

All those things were taken into consideration back when the League was being designed back in February/March of this year. I never thought the League would be 47 players strong, so the system is stretched out more than ever intended.

There are two ways to move up into another division: auto-promotion due to someone dropping out & winning your inter-division matches. Unfortunately, people drop out every week. We have at least one person dropping out every week, so those ‘auto promotions’ are more common than I would like. However, those that benefit from someone quitting are the fighters at the top of the divisions. So win your matches, and the rest will take care of itself.

The inter-divisional matches have been popular so far. The argument about a champion having to defeat a champion in order to move up is true, but it also has it’s faults. For example, why would you want to move up into another division if you can’t beat the division champion anyway? The whole point of the League is to climb up the rankings to become the Division champ for bragging purposes and the spotlight.

If you were to fight a lower ranked fighter and win to earn the right to move into the higher division, you still have to contend with the Division Champ that you couldn’t beat in the first place. Furthermore, the higher division should be filled with other fighters that can’t beat the Champ too, which means they are probably better than you too. The League is structured to place every fighter in a division where they can compete in & have fun. It will take time to sort that out, but it will work itself out.

That being said, we are still a young League. Theoritcally, all fighters will find themselves in the proper division over time. I wish we could move faster, but everyone has their own schedules in life so we have to all move at the same pace. 10 days per week is a good balance between the two.

The 3rd way to move up is by winning one of the Special Events. Back in July, we had a 2v2 tournament for League members. Not many showed up, but the prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place were the right to challenge anyone in the League, no matter what your ranking was. Winner takes the higher rank, and the loser falls to the lower rank between the two fighters. This could provide a chance for someone in the C Division to challenge the GOLD Champion. Alas, GOLD members won the tourney so there wasn’t much drama. The special events are “live” events, meaning you have to be online to participate. I hope to have another type of event sometime in September. They are time-consuming to advertise and run tho.

Finally, the system for the league was designed with two things in mind:

First, to have everyone on a fair & balanced system that doesn’t reward or penalize those that can’t play all the time. Some of us play 24 hrs a day, while others are limited to certain times per week. Matches take about 10 min & everyone is given 10 days to play their 2 matches.

Secondly, the system was also designed to eliminate any type of favoritsm, including myself. Everyone can clearly see who their opponent is this week, and who their opponent may be next week depending on if they win or lose their match. No one ‘picks’ their opponent, and the Champions fight those most deserving of a title shot. Everyoen has the opportunity to get that title shot if they win their matches.

I’m thrilled that so many have signed up for the League thru SRK.com. But be mindful that the players in the higher divisions are there partly because of their personal success in League play, but also b/c they have been with the League for a longer time, in some cases, since its inception in April 2009. Give yourself 4 months, and watch how far you come. in the meantime, there will be plenty of opportunites for you to climb up the rankings/divisions quickly.

And if anyone is wondering, all new members are initially ranked in a first-come, first-served basis starting with their 1st fighter, and then 2nd fighters.
