Bit of a mean response considering he was only asking a question everyone suffers from lag at some point its just part of the game half the time its down to the PSN being pants anyway not the persons location.
Well I suppose if you take lag personally then it would look mean. But seeing howit has nothing to do with mr flowers personally, I’m sure the lag’s feelings won’t get hurt.
KDZaster was one of the players who voluntarily dropped out. He didn’t play either of this two matches, which by League rules, is an automatic forfeit of both matches. When I informed him of the decision, he was unhappy & quit the League.
It’s a tough rule, but neccesary. It keeps the League moving, but it also spotlights the members who don’t take the time to play their matches. Everyone who signed up for this League did so voluntarily, so they should then put in the effort to complete their 2 matches each week. That is the ONLY requirement made of everyone & anyone including me. It doesn’t take much time to play a match (about 10 min). But if you don’t play, you shouldn’t be rewarded with a victory, especially if your opponent plays his other match, win or lose. The system was designed to reward the members that win or at least play their matches.
In some cases where both members of a match don’t complete their 2 matches, it results in a ‘Double Forfeit’, in which neither is awarded the victory. Both are dropped in ranking, and rematched the next week. No chance of ducking opponents, and it allows other members who DID play/win to jump in rankings above them.
FLOWERS lost his other match last week, but that shows effort to complete his matches, while KDZaster didn’t play either of his matches. Therefore, FLOWERS is awarded the victory in his match versus KDZaster.
well from what flowers said it sounds like he was partially at fault though since he was only available for a couple days out of the week. To bad kdz isn’t on mr flowers London schedule. Glad we are focusing on the right players. Kdz was pretty good too. Shame really, but I understand his feeling. Next time I know I am playing somene good I will make sure I am only a available for a couple days and make sure the other guy is busy those days.
I’m sorry if I came across a bit mean or flaming or boasting. I’m pretty much amid-range G2 player and what you guys here on SRK need to understand is that SBL is always saying that I should quit this league but so far he is the only person that I had a really laggy match with and it was only really because I had just got a new phone line and internet so it was slow the first few days.
I played my fight with Cyinistar (my sakura vs his 2nd character Honda) and we had a slight input delay lag but we were both fine with it. Cyistar was the opposite of SBL he was very chatty and friendly on the mix (SBL tells me to turn off my mic). Cynistar even sparred a bit with me afterwards (his idea) and he beat me 9-0!! (Beastly Ken!)
I do understand that it was partly my fault that KDZaster didn’t have many days to fight me but I did mention to S A Longhorn before I left that I was going to L.A. and I told him I was due back home Oct 1st and that he should let my team mates know. He then told me that I should inform them myself but unfortunately I was only able to access the internet twice in L.A. and I completely forgot (which is understandable as I was on holiday).
SBL are you sure you want to forfeit? Lag affects both players but if you quit you won’t do youself any favours in the league. You have to play to win even if it means using cheap laggy tactics. If you play and there is lag and you win you move up in the league. The league doesn’t recognise lag. The league only recognises wins and losses.
I said to turn off the mic to try and improve the lag issue. Not because I didn’t want to be “chatty”. Once again, for the record, nothing against you personally, it’s just no fun playing those lag matches. One of my best friends only has bad wireless access so we can’t play each other either. We used to try, but we gave up. Too much headache.
You may get away with that once, but it will be obivious after two or three weeks.
Had KDZ played his other opponent (OSISII) and then couldn’t matchup verses FLOWERS, then the decision might have gone in his favor. But he did not play his other match. OSISII was available. Despite FLOWERS being gone for part of the week, he still completed one of his matches.
Furthermore, when I send out those “5 days left” messages via the PSN to everyone, it is a way to let everyone know that they need to complete their matches, kind of like a reminder. Also, it works as way for members to contact me if they have problems setting up their matches. I’ve always told everyone to contact me if you have problems contacting your opponents.
All of those things signify a lack of interest in playing. I have no ill will towards KDZ. Some people lose interest in the League, or simply forget. Either way, the League can’t be held up nor should it reward members that appear to not have any interest. Hate to lose any member, but he chose to leave.

@ S A Longhorn. I’m curious to know why you have never shown any sign of stress yet your level of commitment and dealing with issues seems to be ever on the increase? I’ve seen this topic, the SFCCL, the Playstation Network topic and I was one of the first to be against you in the Street Fighter 4 Forums topic.

I would suspect that connection issues have a lot to do with it as kaal said. And allowing players outside of north America doesn’t help matters. Glad you are enjoying those 1bar matches though.

As for poor connections, I think it would be great if we could have a requirement for playing that you install the game to your HDD and have a wired high speed connection. I had to get a 150 ft cable and run it all across my house to get a wired connection instead of just using the wireless. It is so worth it though!
