If they do, I hope that they’ll go back to the days of the SF II series, the SF III series, & Alpha 2/Zero 2, where it had excellent gameplay, memorable stage music, & characters having memorable stages.
Speaking of bosses, for SF5 can we get an awesome original design please? SF1, we had the iconic Sagat as the final boss. Adon was the penultimate boss, nonplayable Gen and Eagle were fabulous designs. Then for SF2 we had 4 bosses. An awesome tribute to Mike Tyson, Boxer, the matador ninja pretty boy Claw, Sagat returning…and then the evil crimelord M Bison. All outstanding designs.
Then what do we get? In Alpha…M Bison again! In SF3…Gill. Who shares a bunch of Urien’s moves. Then SF4 we get the least original boss yet, Seth who simply cops a bunch of signature moves from other characters and has the blandest visual design ever.
Hopefully a much better effort is made for SF5’s final boss.
Remixes don’t count as new songs. They just took existing songs that were already good and arranged them note-for-note. They were good arrangements, but they don’t deserve credit for writing those songs.
When I talk about SF4’s soundtrack I’m talking about the new songs that were made for the stages and new characters, all of which sucked balls.
I don’t know, I actually enjoy the majority of the stage themes. They aren’t godlike, but they are good. Granted, I believe Small Airfield, Overpass, Drive-in at Night, and Jurassic Era Research Facility are godlike themes. As for the new characters, Viper and Poison are pretty sick. I also like Rufus’ theme because it reminds me of Hsien-Ko Darkstalkers 2 theme. Elf, Abel, and Seth feel plain to me.
What I hoping for is they make new themes for all the returning characters for SF5.
You do realize that Gill came first right. Urien only debuted in 2I. And Gill was mad hype, what with the projectiles changing depending on what side he was on and freakin’ resurrection. IMO, he needs to be brought back for V.
SF5 wont even get a look from me till Alex is confirmed. You don’t create a whole new character, that is to be the new face of the franchise and then bury him. Then slowly bring back the majority of characters from the iteration in which said character was introduced, over a span of 4 revisions, to the newest game after he was introduced, and still exclude him.
It’s fucked up in so many ways it would be like if after they introduced X/ Zero in Megaman X, they made the next game starring Rock and Proto then the game after added Vile as playable, like way to troll my life Crapcom
Can I ask a question? Did you want Alex in SFIV to play as him or just for the sake of him to be included in a new game? I’m asking because there were so many people asking for Alex and R. Mika to be in SFIV, but I wonder how many would play them? I don’t see a lot of Alex (not saying he doesn’t get played, but he rarely appears) in 3rd Strike and I’m not sure about R.Mika. To me, this looks like another “NO MAI, NO BUY” situation because how many players are using Mai at the moment?
As for why Capcom didn’t bring Alex in IV, I’ll make two guesses:
I’m assuming plot device. I can kinda see why the certain 3rd Strike characters are in IV, but I guess Alex doesn’t get involve because he has no reason too. In New Generation, he joins the tournament to face Gill for what he did to Tom (you could argue he could be in IV just to test his strength against other fighters, but again, plot device).
Build hype for the next SF game. I believe it’s better to do this for a new game rather trying to build hype for an old game than may or may not get you more players.
Edit: I’m more mad at the fact that Capcom didn’t include more 3rd Strike characters in CvS2. Alex would had been perfecto in that game. But hey, at least he appeared in TvC.
My bad, only played 3s. Well then Gill is actually an awesome boss. So for SF1, SF2, SF3 they all made an awesome original final boss, so kind of a letdown for SF4.
Haven’t played SF IV in a long time so I totally forgot about this. Take out the Auto cross up in the corner.
Edit: The one thing I actually think SFIV did really well with regards to inputs was being able to piano mash moves. It feels more like a technique rather than a test of dexterity, they can keep that in.
