SF5 Rumors - What features would you like to see?

I’d like to be able to play the game online without feeling like a retard.
Must be so nice to play Killer Instinct in that regard even though the game itself is trash.

Gimme guard crush bar and remove stupid 1f links (or add a 1f/2f input buffer during combos) and I’ll be a happy man. Faster walkspeed and a riskier wakeup game for the defender would be good too. Seeing isms/grooves back would be welcome, but I don’t see it happening.

  • 12 extra characters (2 new, 10 old, and add Akira from Rival Schools), probably drop Decapre, Oni, Seth and Evil Ryu

  • 6-8 new stages

I like USFIV, it’s the most complete SF so far in roster matters, so why to re-start again?

I’d want it to have a not as stupid engine that partially caused the problems and glitches in USFIV. I’d also want less arrogant and incompetent director/decision makers that put aside good versions of the game such as Combofiend’s USFIV ver. I don’t want hitboxes to latch and reel with models like they do in SFIV. I want better/faster walk speeds. Efficiently implemented rollback savestate netcode. Local multiplayer replay. Character Select screen button mapping with push button configuration and VF style button check. Skullgirls training mode options, specifically how Record/Replay works (repeat, keep same side inputs or not, from reversal, etc.) followed by Hitbox and Framedata displays.

This part is subjective and not really do-able for each person’s perspective, but I would want the game to not look ugly. SFIV series is kinda ugly, but they turned up the ugly in SFxT; I want them to avoid the styles and bad/tacky costumes and designs for the next game.

Ideally, I want a new Hyper Fighting (not Hyper SFII) but that will never happen.

  • Large cast. I want the game to make the casts for KoF2002UM and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 look like a joke
  • Alpha counters
  • Less busy stages so it won’t cause frame drops
  • Bring back individual character stages
  • SFxT style links
  • Reduced reversal window

Something I’m really a fan of is Game Boy Color’s Street Fighter Alpha. I’d like something like that.

Give the game a Street Fighter Alpha-like gameplay, with air block, air recovery and that, and have the character sprites to be tiny as hell and the stages look extremely big in comparison. That would be incredible.

If this is true then this has to be the fastest they’ve ever released a street fighter sequel, i wasn’t expecting a sequel for about at least another 5+ years.

But i want Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 4 though, not SF5

Me personally, I like to take a break from having such a large cast. It can be pretty overwhelming at times.

It would be fine along with SF5, they release a Street Fighter remake, this time free to play, with SF4 graphics, revive the original journey of Ryu and Ken and now you can have playable Gen, Lee, Joe, Mike Geki, Retsu, Eagle, Birdie, Adon and Sagat via individual purchases.
