SF5 Rumors - What features would you like to see?

All I really want is a new, interesting versatile mechanic that defines the game, like the Focus in SFIV.

As long as it has Juri and doesn’t play like SFxTK i really dont care

No more super lenient shortcuts for inputs please.

I want E. Sagat.

  • He lost both his eyes and is blindfolded. He fights by feeling the Tiger.
  • Sagat should get the “Evil” treatment
  • make knee, uppercut have longer horizontal range, fire effects
  • I could do without fireballs, to account for the knee + uppercut buffs
  • Raging Scar: replaces Angry Scar, 10 frames recovery, takes 1 EX, increase damage of tiger uppercuts and knees by 20% for 10 seconds, can stack 3 times
  • faster step kick with slightly more active frames
  • Ultra I, Tiger Rage (a fast elbow overhead)
  • Ultra II, Tiger Impact (a very meaty knee that goes cross screen)

Every time I play as Sagat I think, “wouldn’t it be cool?”

Thoughts?

I think comeback mechanics are important. Comebacks are hype! There should be a tangible risk in a comeback mechanic though, which is obviously hard to design and balance without being cheap.

Tutorial mode is also very important. Lots of players complain that training mode and challenge don’t help them. Arcade mode is a joke. There should be a more interactive training session, maybe even with a calendar and an itinerary. Or WHAT IF good players could create a “trainer bot” in game to give people tips and disseminate techniques?

I think an MMO element would be really cool, even if it’s just avatars that can hang out and general chat.

Trainer bots would be awesome. I don’t know why it hasn’t been implemented yet that a high level player could record the inputs for a knock down setup or a save state.

Actually, I don’t mind 2 frame links. They’re pretty easy compared to 1 frame links and I can do 1 frame links decent at times. If the bare minimum was 2 frame links I’d be a very happy person.

alpha 3 gameplay

  • No more child friendly input leniency
  • Bring back the frame data mechanics of older games.
  • No more hurtboxes based on model this has been causing so much nonesense in SF4.
  • No more Revenge/Ultra/Custom Combos comeback mechanics.
  • Multiple Supers in round.
  • No more crouch tech if you want to tech that throw you have to be counter throwing.
  • Knockdowns don’t take forever or you can roll back/front ala Alpha 2.
  • 3D but with 2D like animation (just like GGxrd)

They just need to get rid of the lax input timings and shortcuts that are in sf4. Maybe not have it be ST strict, but just make it like KOF where you have to do a proper srk motion for it to come out.

And dont have a comeback mechanic thats more important than landing a super is. Fuck sake the super meter in sf4 is just for ex moves, some for getting a hit confirm for the ultra. The damage is pathetic for both moves anyway.

think of all the bad parts about SF4 and SFxT and then just do the opposite of that

SF5 will probably be for hardcore gamers like Third Strike

After what that exec said about making SF5 pay to win and then the NOTORIOUSLY TROLLISH producer of SF4 said on twitter they werent making it pay to win… I guess we can put faith in them making it the hardcore game all the serious players who practice their games for hours every day truly want.

Street Fighter 5 is definitely in development (about time too!!).

What I would like to see is:

*A reduced roster 16-20
*New nationalities (I think in IV South Korean and Turkish were the only new nationalities). They should have at least a dozen new ones!

  • A new fighting combo system
    *A female boss?

Bring back V-isms.
