SF4 Tournament 6/16 Single player 2v2: The second coming

Hey I talked to magman and I’m going to hold another one of these because I thought the last one was pretty fun.

Same rules as last time with a few more things…

  1. You MUST have/use IRC during the tournament. it is a very simple program, and it will make things run much smoother. If you don’t have it, i’m sure there are other events you can enter, but for this I need everyone on IRC. If you don’t have it already, go to www.mirc.com and download a copy. It’s extremely easy to use and free!

  2. You MUST be in north america. Reason being is last time we tried this we had multiple connection issues with our friends overseas. Sorry guys!

  3. Sorry to anyone who flaked on the last tourney after signing up, but you will not be allowed to enter this specific tournament. It’s a lot more fun when there aren’t 6 byes being handed out because of no shows.

  4. You have to be in the IRC chat 15 minutes before the start… which means you will be there at 9:45 EST. This will just make things easier for everyone.

The rest is the same as before-

-no same character teams ( ryu, ryu)

-Stick with your team the entire tournament

-double elimination single match format

-Double KO to end a match results in another match being played.

-You have 5 minutes once your match is supposed to start to play or you are DQ’d.

** Tournament is Tuesday June 16th at 10:00pm EST, 7:00pm Pacific. The chat you need to enter will be the same as before, #SF4Mikado **

One last thing, no drama queens… we don’t need your kind here.

I would also like to sign up for this, but I am having a small issue I DL mirc but no clue how to use it and when I try to connect it jsut tells me could not connect.

Sarge I’m sure we can get your IRC issue figured out, shouldn’t be too bad. Try to uninstall, redownload and reinstall. Once you do that, just connect to default server, and you should be good to go!

Still haveing a huge issue with mirc. I’ve tried unstill and reinstall and still not haveing anyluck. The program seems to run fine it just wont let me connect.

if you can’t get the program mIRC to work, you can always use this website

1.) press start chatting now
2.) press server (located in the middle in green)
3.) type in IRC address in the server address box: irc.efnet.net
4.) type in nickname: shaba
5.) type in channel: #SF4Mikado
6.) press go

  • if you get something like too many global connections, just keep trying and you’ll eventually get in

  • if you get something like unauthorized/banned, put a number next to you ID and try again, for example shaba1

and now you are using IRC :bgrin: enjoy!

I didn’t hear about the last one.

So it’s 1 man teams with 2 characters. what determines when a person switches to the other character? Elimination? and best of 3s?
