SF4 Standard Edition FightStick - Problem / Defect Thread

these sticks were made by 10 year old chinese kids who sabotaged all of you hahaha dollar a day… take that !!!

This is why I think it’s the emulator. You basically have to slow down your inputs for the game to catch up. Do you have something like STHDRemix to try it out on? Basically, anything that’s on the console and not on PC.

Damn, this sucks. read the whole thread, i was planning to get this stick tomorrow too when i go pick up the game. ive never owned a stick and i think im gonna get a hrap3. how is the hrap3 out of the box? i probably wont plan to mod it unless i need to like a button breaks or something like that. Im just glad i saw this thread before buying anything

Another racist little kid, someone should ban this tard.

I just got my SE stick early today. It has about 8hrs use on it. It hasn’t gotten stuck yet.

Looks like the issue is real, but not universal. I love it by the way. Great stick for the price. The plastic feels very high quality. Buttons and Stick feel good, not Sanwa good, but nothing to complain about.

im not racist you moron, im part asian myself. i was making a joke, but its not a joke really.

Racist jokes aren’t funny kid, go back to your corner now.

Umm, NubyTech did a rather decent stock stick for SFAC. They used American clone parts, though, which was just fine by me. The vast majority of this crowd, though, likes to shit on it because it DID clone American parts.

Thing worked perfectly for a year stock, and modding with Happ parts afterwards was a cinch.

You’re quick to call people racist. I didn’t find his comment racist at all. I actually found it to be somewhat sophisticated social commentary on the vagaries of the modern global economy.

And since this kind of thing seems to matter to deep thinkers like yourself, I’m 100% Chinese. Both of my parents are from Taiwan.

Yeah right, if your parents were from Taiwan, you would call yourself Taiwanese and not Chinese. Goodjob owning yourself.

lol, you are aware there are many ethnic chinese there, basically refugees from the civil war, right? Please tell my family they should call themselves taiwanese and not chinese, that would be very unwelcome NEWS to them.

get all this racist garbage outta here

and talk about the issue at hand

these piece of crap sticks

if you’ve already reported you problem/defect

plz GTFO

I was in Fry’s this morning and was really happy when I saw the stick, bought it, took it home, then the stick got stuck, didn’t center properly, and made some kind of grinding noise. It the same issues all of you here listed.

After about 10 minutes with it, I definitely wanted my $75 back. Stick with a Hori EX 2. At least it works out of the box.

Uh, what did I say that was racist?

I’ve gotta agree with this. The chinese nonsense is really stupid.

I’ve yet to get an answer from any of the guys with working sticks (but DP problems) to see if it works with ST:HDRemix. Well, one guy said it was ok. I was hoping for more follow-up on that though.

I hope this problem doesn’t affect the TE sticks

Maybe I’m the problem with my stick. I feel like it gets stuck but it could just be me getting used to using it. sigh BTW, shit looks like a lot of people are having the issue but to those lucky few that aren’t, you are truly blessed. Again, maybe I’m blessed too. Only time will tell.

I’m gonna play with my SE some more tomorrow and hopefully it doesn’t go bad on me sometime soon. If I just get one day of SF IV with it and then it breaks I’ll be fine. I don’t mind sending it and having MC fix their own fucking issue. Just one day of SF IV Challenge Trial Mode to get me acquainted with using a stick on SF IV and I’ll be fine. That’s all I ask SE Stick! One day…

I don’t know anything about fighting sticks at all, this was going to be my first one. I haven’t played on an arcade joystick in like a decade, so I have no preferences in terms of ball tops and buttons and all that stuff…

What should I do for an entry level stick? Should I stick with this and just get with a buddy that’s more technical minded and do fix the SE? Should I get the SE and just hope that it’s actually okay? Should I go for another stick?

Basically I’m asking is

A) Is the SE stick salvageable for a stick newbie who doesn’t want to order custom buttons or anything like that, but is not retarded and might be able to fix a defective washer or whatever?

B) If not, what is the best alternative that is around the same price range?

I’m easy to please I just want the damn thing to actually work and be relatively inexpensive. This is for a PS3. Sorry if stick recommendations are off-topic, I’m just trying to understand whether the SE is still my best option. Thanks

My arcade stick doesnt register any left movements that includes the whole left part of the stick…is it an easy fix or do i have to send it to madcatz?

I grabbed an EX2 for $39.99 to hold me over while my T5 gets modded. I also pre-ordered an SE from Buy.com for $73 after coupon, but after reading about all these issues I’m not sure I wanna take a chance with that kind of cash. I trust the Hori to at least work out of the box, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s almost half the price of the SE.
