Evo tickets were not given away. They were awarded to winners of open format tournaments. If the winner of the tournament was unable to attend Evo for any reason (example Proff Jones was off to SBO).
The supposed rule was that it if this were to happen, the highest placing ruinner up would go. In some cases there would be two equal closest players (as two losing semi-finalists, say) and in such a case the Neo Empire Staff would make a judgement.
Check the results to see who was chosen, conveniently!
This was the event where the UK proved once and for all they are just SRK/US/Japan fan boys, as Sinity was BOOED against Justin Wong despite being the home player and one of literally 5 or 6 people that tried to keep Marvel alive in Europe, despite overwhelming pussying out by Europe en masse as the game was ostensibly “just load of BS, we don’t like it, it’s too tier dependanat arrrgh stop running away… urggh what’s with these combos”.
lol at the way the NE frontpage describes US players as ‘Superstars’. Superstars are international movie actors, athletes and pro wrestlers. People that play fighting games are people from all different backgrounds, and none are even remotely close to being household names, never mind superstars.

When promoting an event, you want to pump up the audience, make the tournament and future events sound attractive. Using the term ‘Superstars’ is a good keyword to use to bring excitement to a promotion. Using the right words is important…and TEO seems to have just missed *that *point entirely.
