SF4 custom soundtrack

Pretty sure everyone who’s had the console for more than a day is well aware of this, lol.

Actually, most PS3 owners aren’t, as most PS3 games don’t have this capability.

So here’s the scoop:

With SF4, you can play your own music, but if you want to create specific playlists for SF4 (I had to because I have all sorts of shit in my master list, like Christmas music and whatnot), you will have to do so from outside the game.

After you boot the game, you can open your XMB? menu by pressing the PS button, scroll over to Music, and then play either from Playlists or straight from your master list. The music will then replace all in-game music except for online games.

After your playlist is through, the game will return to regular game music (or you can just stop playback from your XMB? menu), so don’t forget to set your player to repeat if you don’t want that to happen.

Good shit, spent 30 mins importing music last night. Def much better to listen to a better soundtrack. I also like how after the match one of your custom songs come on during the summary screen. When you have the right song, it looks pretty cool.

Question, any easier way to make a playlist?

I made a playlist with the character remixes from the JP CD soundtrack. Good stuff since you only usually hear them during rival matches in single player.

this is nice, but music doesnt bother me.
I wish there is custom wallpaper, I am tried of seeing Ken’s smirk on Network Battle search.

If anybody cares, I couldn’t find a better way to make a playlist (I imported over 200 songs from my comp). But you can use the shuffle function which is like a random playlist anyways.

To do it, when you go into XMB and start off on whichever song you like, you’ll automatically be exited from the XMB once the song starts. Go back in the XMB, go to that same song and press “X” again. You’ll see a mini player come up. Select the “SHUF” option, exit XMB and your music will just shuffle.

Yeah. Just make sure you also turn on repeat (it’s the loop, but make sure the icon you get is the loop and not loop 1). Also, if you set this all up before you ever boot the game (say you were listening to music on your PS3 already), it’ll just use whatever settings you had on when you do play.

Sorry had to comment on how badass I think this is. Just bought a PS3 like 3 weeks ago (for SFIV) and still learning new things that my system can do. Thanks for the thread.

I was so happy when I found this feature. Aside from getting all the SFIV proper music on there, I was able to import alot of the older games’ themes as well.

I truly and utterly miss the ‘stage theme’ aspect of older street fighters. :sad:

I have the sf4 soundtrack (that came with the game) on while I’m playing. It’s awesome. I have some other random tracks on there. The Soundtrack from Ikaruga, some of those Street Fighter hip hop songs off PSN.

It’s really an awesome feature.
