sf2ce

Are you implying that CE chun beats CE Guile? Chun without her fireball is easy street.

You’re making assumptions. I never said anything about HF.

I simply asked why it is preferred over other versions. Its almost unanimous world-wide why it wouldn’t be played anymore; and I said nothing about ā€œlatest versionā€. I looked through the thread and the only answer I say was something ā€œlike CE is original SFII gameā€ or something like that. They even tier whore Bison and Guile themselves in the videos linked throughout the thread with the uppers Ryu, Sagat.

Maybe they don’t necessarily have a good reason; did you ever think of that? Maybe its the only SFII game they really played and so they decided to stick to it? Maybe some sort of budget/availability thing? Perhaps nostalgia? Maybe they like Bison’s infinite Scissor kick lockdown and Ryu’s corner traps. Like I said, that’s why I asked (and I wasn’t the only one) to wonder why they played it. No-one is closed-minded; we’re just curious is all.

The only thing I could think of is that Korea got a shit-ton of CE machines when SF2 was blowing up world wide and didn’t get to many HF/Super/ST machines after that. Just by what I’ve seen on the west coast CE is by far the most common arcade cab of SF you’re going to find.

a good CE chun can beat a good CE guile for sure since her jlk is so annoying, it blocks most of guile’s attacks, flashkick included. Even though she doesnt have any fireballs, she can beat really hard in CE, it’s not easy but if you how to use her in this game your opponent will have an hard time… her counterpicks are so good.

In my opinion Koreans play CE just cause they like it, there is no money issue I think since if you look at the videos i post in here they have plenty of T6 cabinets and KOFs… it’s just because they like it… just think of China, chinese still play KOF97 and it’s not because the kof98’s MVS is expensive…the reason is that they like it.

Please just stay on the sidelines, nod, and read the thread. Thanks.

Huh. Most of the tier stuff I’ve read said CE Guile has virtually no bad matches.

Anyways what I was trying to get at was maybe there was a time when Korea mainly had CE for a long period of time and that’s how everyone got their taste for CE and not much else afterward.

dunno about that but regarding Guile I have to say that it is true that he has virtually no bad matchups but as i said Chunli can stop most of his attack with just J,LK. Of course you have to know how to use Chunli in the right way but defeat Guile or Bison with her is not that impossible…sure easier than using Honda or Blanka (for ex.). Another difficult matchup is Zangief vs GUI/BIS but as far as I saw during the various streaming a really good Zang can beat GUI/BIS really easily

Some friends and I stumbled upon a CE cab at one of my old favorite dive bars tonight. Used a nearby chalkboard to keep track of wins. Beats the shit out of settling for Golden Tee.

sf2ce, very, very balanced game, is worth studying

When CE came out, my love for the series also got technical. CE/HF/ST/AE… Best of the SF2 series imo. And for the OP thanks for posting and sharing on this thread

come back

hi, it has been long time passed that I didn’t reply any thread here.
I was little bit busy because of preparing for a test. The text day is in next month:shy:
Here’s a news. August 6,7 and 8, there’re some of tournaments in Nanning, China. 3~4 of our Korean members will go togeter(expected). There’ll be a lot of gamers and great ce players gathering but no nothern part of China, I think.
Oh, and one thing more, I finally bought action figures (sf2ce characters) made by SOTA, but a lot of them are needed repainting. Anyone knows a nice intersite to learn how to painting on action figure? Thanks.
