SF2 Tournaments

Rufus: Thanks for the offer, but I’d rather not screw with my stick. I’m sure you know what you’re doing but I don’t really want to chance anything.

DG: Cool, I’ll just use your PS2 TE

Can’t believe I haven’t posted this one yet!

MAT VIII
Date: June 4th & 5th, 2011
Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (Coeur Des Sciences UQAM (Salle polyvalente) ; 200 Sherbrooke West)
Game: HD Remix
Platform: Xbox 360
Thread: MAT VIII part of Evo TS - June 4th & 5th - Montreal, Canada (MVC3 Bonus 500$)

This time, HDR will be run by yours truly. Reminder to any US guys wanting to come up north, you need your passport to cross the border.

Just been notified that US ST speed 2 = GMC speed 3. So all US ST board donations are indeed welcome

A little late oops…

Battle of Seattle
May 28 & 29

Its an ST arcade tourney but ill be running a side tourney for HDR

How do you run a side tourney? Any tips?

Thelo, is it confirmed that Justin Wong will be arriving for MAT? I’ve been checking both MAT threads, and don’t see any confirmation. If he is coming, I will definitely MM for HDR! (I will prolly lose, but it’s money well spent IMO LOL) BTW thanks for running the tourney.

Two weeks away from Revelations!

Posting this because I just noticed that the webpage is not in DGV’s post.

We have a webpage up for the tournament where you can see all the information DGV has posted here, see who is attending the tournament and you can also add your name to the list, if you are planning to go.

The turnout looks to be really good so far! There’s a good chance that Daigo and Sako will be entering but it’s not confirmed yet (we’re working on it). Another BIG name player may be joining as well!

that tournament is gonna be fucked up on so many levels it shouldn’t even be legal. God I wish I could make it…

PLEASE record as much of the Revelations ST/HDR stuff as possible!

There are plans to record the matches. We’re working on trying to get a stream going if we can get the equipment.

JWong is doing his usual disappearing act, nobody knows whether he’s coming or not at this point. He popped up to ask for MMs (I offered my usual 100$ match) then disappeared, who knows what’s gonna happen.

I guess we’ll just have to cross our fingers. Thanks.

For anyone interested in a PSN tournament:

streetfighterdojo.com, the fighting game video library website, is contributing $80 toward the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament prize payout at Revelations (Jun. 10 - 12 LA, CA).

Info on the SSF2T tournament:
1) Forum Thread - http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/...elations-los-angeles-ca-june-11th-1pm.132130/
2) Website - http://ssf2t.wordpress.com/

This $80 will specifically be distributed to provide $10 each to players placing 9th - 16th place. This will extend the payouts from Top 8 players to Top 16 players, and will hopefully provide an added incentive for players on the fence to come join the Super Turbo action.

Here's how the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament's payout schedule currently breaks down:

$5 venue fee to the venue (not part of prize payout)
$20 registration fee toward the prize pool (part of prize payout)

Current # players confirmed: 32

$20 x 32 = $580

1st = 45% + $0 = $288
2nd = 20% + $0 = $128
3rd = 10% + $0 = $64
4th - 8th = 5% + $0 = $32 (each)
9th-16th = 0% + $10 = $10 (each)

Or for those who just want the numbers...

1st---------$288
2nd--------$128
3rd---------$64
4th---------$32
5th---------$32
6th---------$32
7th---------$32
8th---------$32
9th---------$10
10th-------$10
11th-------$10
12th-------$10
13th-------$10
14th-------$10
15th-------$10
16th-------$10

(NOTE: the payouts for 1st - 8th will go up as more people enter the tournament)

streetfigherdojo.com is happy to support the outstanding efforts of Revelations, Tournament Legacy, Alex Valle, and the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo tournament community. Hopefully more of you out there will take this opportunity to join the sponsor train, throw some coins into the community machine, and help support your fellow World Warriors.

So dig out that Gi (or Chinese Dress: we don't judge), step up to the classic arcade challenge, and join us for some old school Super Turbo beat downs:
"You must defeat Shen Long to stand a chance!"

A quick heads up for the Evo Super Turbo tourney. The tourney will start at 1pm on Saturday (July 30th). We will have casuals on Friday evening so players can get used to the hardware :sunglasses:

What happened to this tourney?

Treta Tournament, Curitiba, Brazil. (Google crappy translation)

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Classic mode
Platform: PS3

Prizes (32 players or more) *they list 45, but I have confirmed with them that 32 will do for this game

  1. XBox360 Arcade
  2. Custom Sanwa joystick
  3. SSF4 for PS3

(less than 32 players)

  1. Custom Sanwa joystick
  2. SSF4 for PS3
  3. PSN Card US$ 20,00

There should be streaming/Twitter updates and stuff.

^^^ why do you reward the winners with a copy of ssf4? lol

but good job running tournament in Brazil!

I am just helping in sort of subtle ways (presence, advertisement, printing stuff and fixing at the local arcade), the ones from Curitiba are taking care of it. The one responsible for ST is [BR]earqueman, from GGPO.

They get SF4 as a stain for their weakness: be at the top or be just another loser!

you should take some pictures

i wonder how tournaments are like in brazil
