I really don’t understand why people say SFxT is dumbed down. With the exception of Focus Attacks (and Ultras, but Cross Arts are about the same thing) they have done nothing but add more freatures, what is there to dumb down?

Idk hes even more mobile in SFxT and mobility has much more variance in sfxt then sf4, heihachi and yoshimitsu in particular are free for vega because they are so slow. They just get poked to death and have to use very unsafe options to get in.

He actually does decent damage in SFxT and its all easy to hitconfirm.

I will eat my own shit if vega ends up being in the bottom half of the tiers.

I have played it genius, I own it. Instant combos with the touch of one button, super moves dumbed down to a special move input and hold-my-hand gems that make idiots and five year olds feel like they’re good at fighting games. Dumbed-down doesn’t even begin to describe this party game.

If an 8 year old made top 50 at Evo In MvC3 then you and others are gonna get some serious comp from toddlers in SFxT. Good luck with that.

After a few days of playing SFxT, it feels like Super Street Fighter Super Smash Bros to me. A really slow version of Smash Bros though. Game isn’t bad, but not my cup of tea. I knew this when I went back yesterday and played AE again. It was fantastic, and I’ve never appreciated it more. Vega was actually reacting to my every move, and not just randomly ignoring an input, or throwing out a dangerous slide when I wanted a Cosmic Heel. Corpse-hoping is bordeline impossible against an adept opponent in SFxT, and doesn’t seem worth the effort.

Not shitting on this game, but I think I’ll stick to AE and Alpha 3, with some occansional ST. If anyone hasn’t played it or isn’t planning on buying it, you’re not missing out on anything that you’ll regret. Anyway, anybody on this forum still play AE on PSN? I haven’t played any of you besides Vegaman and I’d love to get some AE matches in now that I have a new-found appreciation for it. I know PSN sucks but I have a direct ethernet connection so if you do too it should be fine. But even if you don’t fuck it, let’s go some rounds. Whenever.

I actually feel the opposite way. I tried going back to AE and I just simply cant play multiple games like that. I’m stuck trying to do SFxT combos in SF4. Fame advantage is off, combos are off, timing is off, command for BHC is off. I’m probably going to drop SF4 after NCR competitively. I’d actually drop it now but i already registered for it. Iono how some people can switch back and forth between games on the fly…

As for the game, I’m enjoying a game without focuses much more. and IMO Vega is much much better in this game. I agree with the part about dumbed down inputs though. The gems are a nice feature, just to make characters different. Corpse hopping doesnt happen except on jin from what i’ve seen, or unless they tech roll. I think it’s a really fun game. It’s my new CvS2

That’s a good point here, Vega’s excellent footsies were often straight beaten by FADC in SF4. Getting rid of focuses would definitely improve them.

But… that would go for projectiles characters as well I’m afraid… =D
