It was the tv lagg. I cant stress enough hough fucking horrible these tvs were. like fighting 1 bar connections with 3 second input lagg.
You can punish all of Vega’s bullshit wall dives with reversal mk legs on block. Ultra and lp super work too.
You need to AA with DP and ultra. I mean, you’re Seth. Make every jump hurt. I know you said the TV was laggy though.
When Sagat jumps over a Sonic Boom it’s a free ultra for you. You should do it every time.

Tony you need to do legs -> stomps in the corner. Don’t do the lp shoryu juggle, it does less damage and stun. Because your execution is good you might want to try the s.hk -> cr.mp xx legs -> stomps combo. It does great stun, and better damage.
Some tips for the Rufus matchup:
[LIST]
[]Don’t jump unless you’re doing a headstomp. Don’t jump at him, don’t neutral j.hp often, don’t jump back during his strings. J.hk -> ultra kills you.
[]When he’s doing dive kick shit, mix up between doing close s.lk/lp, DP FADC, backdash, and backwards teleport. Don’t play his throw tech game, you can’t win.
[]Avoid the corner at all costs. You can’t get out versus Rufus.
[]After a blocked Galactic Tornado a s.lk should beat everything he can do besides EX Messiah.
[]You saw the dive kick to avoid the ultra. That only works up close. But if he is jumping in at you, do a lp/hp shoryu instead of the ultra.
[]Everything Rufus can do to get in is dumb. Either he has to roll towards you or jump at you. If you just throw Sonic Booms/far s.hp and don’t get predictable he’s hosed. He has to jump in at you eventually as long as you poke him and stop rolls with Sonic Booms.
[*]If you know they’re holding up back the best things you can do are either A)Shoryu FADC B) jump forwards j.mp or C) let them jump and ultra/super them. Headstomp whiffs if they empty jump backwards and then they can punish.

thnx for the vid Tony you come through as always, but I dunno maybe try to utilize s.mp at for example at 1:08 after you ate the jump in fierce from rufus you are at an excellente range to utilizete mp to stand your ground instead of jumping back that lead up to 1:11
maybe kiku can answer this if it would work properly but when I play abel against dive dick or jump happy rufuses a s.lp or just a mp works good mid range

7 2 10 18 0 +3Yeah I’m aware of how impossible it is to block dive kick, especially in the corner. If he tries that shit mid-screen I just teleport away. If it’s in the corner I crouch block and block in the direction of the corner. That way if he hits me with a dive kick he can’t combo into ultra because target combo doesn’t work on crouchers and I’ll block a galactic tornado combo.
Thing is though that even Justin has the same shitty options for getting close. We all know that Justin doesn’t play Rufus versus Daigo because he’ll just fireball trap Rufus. Seth’s fireball trap isn’t as lethal but he has more tools than Ryu.
I know I’m oversimplifying the situation but the point is that Rufus is really bad unless he’s close to you.
Yeah, at ‘mid range’ your best bets are far s.mp and far s.lp to beat dive kick.
If he’s up close though it still works but if he did a followup s.lk, s.hp, EX Messiah, or throw, you get hit. I suggested close s.lk for Seth because it has a relatively high hitbox, is a 4 frame move, and doesn’t whiff on crouchers. Theoretically Seth’s close s.hp should be great against dive kick strings as well.

I did really really horrible (partly because of the borrowed TE stick i wasn’t used to, it’s just too big!) and only won one match, so definitely nothing to be proud of, but hey i’m man enough to put my losses on youtube.
Also in casuals i tend to try more rushdown stuff like OnlineTony (you’re my idol man! =P ) but in a tournament i revert to runaway, just get scared i guess.
