Constructive criticism without resorting to “my eyes bleed” comments is common courtesy. SaikyoBeast, Wonder_Chef and Kikuichimonji are doing it right. MikeTyson has done it wrong and now has some time off SRK to think about it.
My question is, what is the key to making the EX shory lead to EX TE. I dont know how many times I have to do the SRK motion, or what the timing is. If I just mash SRK motions it only seems to work 3/10 times.
You need to get six or seven hits on the shoryu. If you do Cr.hp -> EX Shoryu, you can EX Tandem off of five, but that’s an exception to the rule.
You have to do the shoryu motion three times. If you delay the second one slightly the six hit version will be more consistent. If you hit them from farther away it will also be more consistent. Certain characters make it easier to get more hits at different ranges, but it’s possible on everyone with the right timing and ranges.
Simple answer: you need at least 6 hits from the EX srk. If you mash SRK you tend to get only 5, because you need a slight pause between inputs.
Longer answer: you need 6 and max is 7 i believe but most of the time when it goes wrong you had only 5 hits. After that it’s all about getting EX engine out as soon as you land, which is where i tend to screw up most of the time, but it’s all about timing.
Easiest thing though is to keep an eye out for the combo count that pops up after you do the EX srk you make sure you get 6 hits.
Best advise i have = make a vid of yourself practicing in training mode, see how many times EX engine fails and if the cause is too few hits. If you get 6 hits then try to EX engine and nothing comes out you either did it too early or didn’t input correctly, if EX engine comes out but fails to suck in your opponent you did it too late.
I can get it 9 times outta 10 in training, but can’t nail it online or even in tournaments =P
EDIT: weird thing thats probably just personal, but i seem to have a higher success rate when i use mp+hp for the EX engine…if i use lp+mp i tend to screw up more…go figure =P
That is a very scary way to put it.
I will try that as soon as I get home from work. Yeah lol, mashing just doesnt provide reliable results all the time.
Ok got a few more links to my tournament vids. Reviewing them myself i feel as if everyone i’ve played is an idiot for not just spamming their AA move…although the Fei that did fell for a few empty jumps followed by legs, so it’s not all bad…i just feel like a major scrub even though i placed 13th place…gonna try to work on doing something other than runaway j.HP’s…but it’s hard to change a habit. Anyway on to the vids:

Good to see Fei represented, too bad the one playing lost every fight in the poule, but i have had my ass handed to me bei some Fei’s online so he just needs to hang in there =)

I was out-turtled because of my lack of patience, too many walljumps that clearly weren’t getting me anywhere…easy to see now, hard to see when you’re playing =)

the Vega player and i have met before but Seth wasn’t unlocked at the tourney and i had to go with my backup Fuerte. I’m not too bad with Elf but i lost anyway. This time we were both nervous: him because i told him i’d kick his ass with Seth, me because i told him i’d kick his ass with Seth and now had to prove it =)

Now this is simply one of the top players here in the netherlands…didn’t stand a chance with my lacking groundgame…
There’s a few more vids i still have to edit and upload, but i’m afraid it’s just more of the same (j.HP)
Tips greatly appreciated!
Novastorm. Your EX shory tip helped greatly, hopefully my tip(s) can to.
The thing I noticed is that you drag matches on longer than they need to be. You are missing many damage opportunities (primarily st.HP). Also, it seems like you depend on jumping back and throwing random j.HP. Try mixing it up with lp. sonic booms and react to what your opponent does.
Also, you need to stop your seemingly random wall jump stomps. That move has NO priority so vs an easy mode characters (Sagat, Ryu, and Rog) you will eat anti air ultra. Now I am not saying don’t do it, just be more cautious about it.
Just my 2 cents
Need more Seth videos =(
I have a new (shitty) replay up on XBL. ;3
Same…
Well i seem to be the only one upping atm…but i agree, we need some vids from others (i could use the pointers =D )
Wish I had an even half way decent way to capture video from my 360.
Here is one of BEHR messing me up pretty hardcore

Wow, it’s a far cry from the Seth i play, lots of jumpins, which you should just punish with c.HP (i think, don’t play boxer myself).
Nice c.HP, boom FADC stomps from him though, didn’t even know about that one =)
Wow, thats a risky way to play seth. But i guess he knew you wouldnt punish most of his attack, i guess.
ive played him before and hes pretty good but he seems to play risks too much with seth, even when in a mirror match.
Why did he do that sonic boom FADC combo? wouldnt a regular c.hp xx lp shory work better instead?
That’s what I thought… I guess he’s just showin’ off
I gotta admit though, It did look sick lol
I guess but still, such a waste of ex bar. plus who is he showing off to? himself? cause im sure his opponent wont give a damn about it. I mean ya, it got showed off to youtube but did he know that? doubtful.
Still that C.hp xx sonic boom - headstomp dive kick in the corner was nice, didnt know you could combo off that, might use it for mind games and shenanigans.
It’s worthless, Hyakuretsu is better in every way.
Gotta punish those jump ins man. That guy’s seth is faaaaaar too jumpy, especially when headbutt + Ultra = DEATH!
