Seth SSFIV: AE Loc Test Impressions (News, Venting, Etc.)

if the rumor is true about Seth’s HP increasing… consider him my sub. It should be bumped up to, like 850-900 HP.
I’m wanting to say that this HP increase was due to Seth’s keep away game (or his game in general) getting worse, what with his yoga-snipe being take away from him.
And his Chun-Li riverdancing being harder to perform.
And his Ultra 1 being made a bit more useless.
…And with his Super already sucking major ass with priority.

So i say… buff the damage of his SPD. Less recovery time with his teleporting, and maybe a few more juggle options (resets, etc.) with an shoryuken/hyakuretsu move.
But I know that won’t happen, so

ITT: people need more health in order to be less free with Seth…

Who started the Seth Surfer avatar? The other day I saw one with Seth Surfer in Zangief’s mouth. I’m thinking of ways to add him to my avatar in one of the slides. How do you make the backgrounds clear?

Back on topic though, who’s dropping him if he doesn’t get some major buffs somewhere else. If I spent $100 and countless hours in game just to learn a completely new character in this version, I won’t be playing a shitty shell of a shell of Seth.

I will still play Seth but at the same time I play alot of characters…but I am as of now more intrigued by Seth 2.0

because just having that shit makes such a big difference just by hitting your opponent once or twice makes him aware of that and if you use it sparringly every round they will focus more on not getting hit by it because it is so humiliating and then you just fucking throw a boom…walldive in…rape

but I miss Seth’s old dive kick and I am happy if that shit comes back plus if he gets a health and a damage boost he will be more of a combo machine than he is now

I miss being able to anti-air jumps over booms with a rising j.hp back in vanilla. It made Rufus and Zangief look so helpless as they desperately try to get in from full-screen. I wish Capcom would stop being so secretive and release detailed info on the changes they made.

It does not matter, for we are all already one…yeah ok that was stupid.

A really small part of me feels excited at the prospect of playing a truly abyssal Seth, someone worse than Dan and for hardcore masochists only. A really really really small part.

As a Honda/Zangief player i must say Seth’s J.HP is quite annoying at times and more often than not I wish I could bitch slap the seth player irl for spamming the shit out of it but honestly… completely removing it from seth’s move set its pretty retarded.

Small part of me is kinda happy it could be gone (nothing is for sure) just because I’ve been spammed so damn much whit it but I can imagine how the seth players feel.Gief is getting a EX GH without KD now >.> Its just as bad in my eyes.

Anyway I’m sure capcom will give him more hp, stun or something else if they take out the HP. If they don’t seth will be pretty much F (for Fuckballs) tier.

Honda’s j.mp eats up Seth j.hp spammers. One of my friends is a really great Honda player and is the reason I don’t spam j.hp against Honda. As a Honda player neutral j.mp should annoy you more since it beats most of Honda’s jump-in’s (Thanks to jalaPno for originally pointing this out).

Also can’t Lariat catch spam j.hp?

With the slight nerf to Seth’s j.hp in Super, some of the most random things/button trade or stuff j.hp/s.hp.

I must say that the Seth Player had balls of steel to spam J.Hp against Zangief or Honda. We all know that Gief headbutt, random lariat trade to EX hand, or Honda’s Far standing heavy punch and Ultra 1 (it punished my Neutral jump HP…) puts fear of even thinking of using it. I use it sparringly to respect my opponent tools. Heck sometimes a Gief player will start the match with neutral Jump headbutt just to tell me he aint afraid of using it. I hate losing 70% life just because they guessed right once.

Good Seths will fake the HP.Its not as easy to catch it every time as you say.By “spam” i mean being used more often then any other normal, not a Seth that just jumps back and does the j.HP every single time (that’s easy enough to counter offline, offline being the key word here).

There’s a reason Seth is one of the worst matches for gief and honda and that is j.HP.Wen used right its freaking devastating in those matches.

And again,just so no one misunderstands me… even tho it can be a big pain in my ass i do think it shouldn’t be removed from the game.

To be honest I found the whole Gief vs Seth matchup not that bad for Gief. I mean shit Seth basically has to stay on top of his game the whole time. Can’t really walljump or rely on j.hp anyway due to headbutt stunning in one hit. If zangief gets super/ultra (or even a regular SPD depending on hp) after headbutt it’s all over.

It’s more annoying for Gief than it is unfair imo.

Gief vs Seth in super is NOT that bad for gief at all now. No ultra 1 trap etc.

Also, these Seth changes are bullshit. Capcom just hates how I play. I’m sorry guys. :frowning:
