Seth SSFIV: AE Loc Test Impressions (News, Venting, Etc.)

If I understand this right, it confirms that seth wont get any improvments at all
Can someone re-explain?

what is that suppose to mean? That they should nerf him so its fun to fight against him? or are you just writiing meaningless-bullshit?

Well it’s obvious that Dhevil is being satirical there. In any event the only thing u really have to understand for now is that there are no real confirmed buffs to match Seth’s nerfs (based on what Ono just said). Which immediately is bad news. Yet at the same time it’s been said from the Japanese loke tests that Seth does play differently. That’s from actual Japanese SFIV players. Not Bozo the Clown. It’s just a matter of whether or not Seth playing differently completely has to do with what Ono said or if he may have new things that will offset his nerfs. That we can’t confirm especially considering anything Ono says is horse shit.

I thank Ono for SF revival but… He really is crap at SF by his own admition and it shows; Seth too strong? What the hell is he smoking? Coz that is some good shit and he needs to share it!

Seriously though, I Hope the people who balance the game will convince him of his folly and make Seth better not worse. Seth already has the absolute worst risk/reward in the game.

Making Seth good and fun to play seems to be something Capcom is incapable of doing. But we’ll have to wait and see… There is still a chance, all hope is not yet lost. I pray to God that he gets better but he remains fun to play and that his essence remains intact.

I just hope they’re not going to pull a Gen on us. Like removing important key elements of a character (in Gens case his mk hand loops) and fail to actually compensate it.

Also fun for players who were comfortable or knew the matchup against Seth.

Take that I out and put WE. We hope he doesnt end up like this.

It is also a wait and see thing but you can’t help but to think on the negative sides due too the many nerfs.

omfg will people stop mentioning this? MK Hands loops was unintentional, and therefore was never meant to be a staple in Gen’s playstyle.

By the way, anybody who likes a character for how they play (as a whole), but drops them the moment there’s a change they don’t agree with, is a fucking baby. Has adaptation really gone the way of the buffalo? Cry less, please.

you either ride or die homie

seth till I…resurect

Why all the arguments??? Seth board hardly ever gets arguments! If you have a contrary opinion can we please try and state it without insulting someone from now on, is that too much to ask atm?

the clones are starting to develop their own brains

That doesn’t change any of his points.

yeah well my point is MK Hands MK Hands did nearly 250 damage. A bit much for a solid poke with safe-to-spam hands cancel.

My other point is: If you can’t adapt to a character’s changes, then you probably fail to adapt to players’ strategies as well. Stunt pilot > Auto-pilot.

Not when you consider Gen’s tournament results, which tbh are the only real benchmark of how good a character is.

I just wish you’d mained Sean in 2nd impact!

I play Necro in 3S, if that’s any condolence.

I’m sorry, but if they take out Seths j.fp I’m not playing Seth anymore, which sucks because Seth is the only character that clicks with me.

Yes I totally dropped him, because at tournies I’d actually like to have a chance. What kind of shit arguement is that: 'it was unintentional’
So what? Shouldn’t stop Capcom from realizing that it pretty much made that versions Gen, instead they ‘tried’ to make him more like his Alpha counterpart, except failed miserably. But I guess you’re right. Asiantom, Yeb, Jibbo, Ariez, are all babies for realizing how shit SSF4 Gen has become for actual tournament play.

And I didn’t quit Gen immidiately, I played 3 tournies with him (and got b+ rank with him, though that says nothing) and I noticed first hand how ridiculous it was. The loop was hardly overpowered considering the amount of effort you had to put in btw.

Yes you are right, I like seth for how he play (as a whole), I kept using him in SSF4 becuse it was the same Seth but nerfed. In AE they removed his jumping long amrs and made ultra1 unable to catch people when they throw fireball, this is not just some changes, its major nerfs, he is not the same character he was before. So dont blame people if they drop him in AE.
Like removing sonic boom for guile, its the same situation here

I agree. Didn’t Kinpatsu say that Seth is a totally new character in AE loc test? This means we will have to learn how to play AE Seth from scratch. Some players may not like what he becomes and so choose another character who better suits the way they want to play the game.

I wouldn’t imagine from scratch, just instead of being able to play Seth both zoning and rushdown, you can only rushdown. Doesn’t seem like much to learn.

E. Hondas cr. lp xx HHS. You can go for 2 HHS if the first is blocked…

but still I hope these changes are just for the location test.
