Seth Killian Leaving Capcom

meh.

oh well.

I dunno what to say…

Seth leaving is a damn shame, to me he always felt like one of the guys promoting a new Capcom fightinggame (sure he couldn’t say it sucks if he thought so), not some corporate dummy.
Still… like multiple times said before, one keeps wondering why he left at this moment… (unless he decided to become go home and be a family man :stuck_out_tongue: )

I wish S-Kill the best in the future and I hope he stays part of the FGC

It was a sad day when Capcom spoon fed him that crap about Xbox not being able to do co-op play. Even the way he wrote the response felt like someone who was asking himself what the fuck am I doing.

IT’S TUESDAY! SOMEONE TURN THIS SETH STORY INTO A BISON TUESDAY GIF

then you should articulate yourself better

if it really was a mistake, it was an easy one to make due to your poor chose of words.

I am really hoping he goes to other companies to work as an advisor. Seth has a strong sense of what makes games competitive friendly, and could easily guide along pre existing, or perhaps new, IPs

I wish Seth the best, he’s a great man and one of the pillars of this community.

DIBS ON HOLOGRAM SETH KILLIAN AS A TOURNAMENT NAME

lol eventhubs

Saw a similar quote on the front page article XD

DAMN YOU SFXT!!!

Grats to Seth capcom is the devil

Sent from my pussy using gurlllllltalk

I can, incredibly easily.

Are you aware just how hooked up the AAA-game industry is with “appealing to broad audiences”? SFxT isn’t the first game they tried dumbing down, nor are fighting games the first genre. Just look at the shooters, look at EA and their talk about Dead Space 3. Heck, Capcom themselves are doing it right now with Resident Evil 6.
Sticking to your roots? Making a game that’s good for what it is? Fuck that shit, just copy Call of Duty because we executives want their money!

Ono wasn’t the genius who hand-crafted every idea, every mechanic or every character in that game, the developers themselves, who work their asses off in an environment like game development, deserve a lot of credit. But so very often, in times we rarely ever see, they don’t get to do what they want to do because of executives demanding their game target demographics instead of emphasising quality, or making them rush it out the door a year or two earlier than it’s ready. The only way they can make a genuinely good game is if there are people fighting those same executives in a bad company. Ono was that guy.

You don’t have to like him. I won’t even make you say that you owe him for the FGC renaissance. But you are stretching if you’re saying that he is the symptom of Capcom’s problems.

But I digress, this is about Seth, not Ono. [S]His departure thread is for another time.[/S]

Seth, if it weren’t for the fighting game community’s enthusiasm, I’d never have stuck around. You have been nothing but iconic for all the good of this community and the people in it. I consider you a fine example of the best of us, and whether or not you join us again, or leave fighting games behind entirely in pursuit of another dream, I will still think of you when I think of the community’s greats. Either way, you deserve to do well.

As hollow as this may sound from a fan you have never met, thank you.

Batman is riding a robot unicorn, your questions are invalid.

Real talk thatd be amazing, I have no doubt that hes probably pretty decent but he seems to be a way old school player so I dont know how well he’d do in these new school games (even tho SFIV and UMvC3 are partially his own creations!)

Wow. My gratitude goes out to Mr. Killian for sticking it out this whole time, taking flak and traveling non-stop. I’m sure he didn’t imagine doing that when he first got the job there.

Good luck with whatever endeavors you undertake next, and most of all, have fun.

I think I’m going to read some of his old articles now, for perspective and self-reflection.

We had a talk a while ago about how tiring it must be for him to have to lie all the time about something you love so much just for the sake of your job. Maybe he was reading and took it to heart ><

sure, they aren’t the only fighting game company, but capcom is the one that revived the fighting game scene.

without sf4, the fighting game scene would still be dead in its waters. even the creators of blazblue credited sf4 for the revival of fighting game.

do you really think that snk, arksys, namco or netherealm can carry capcoms torch? they didn’t in 2000s and they sure as hell can’t now.

People that usually say that are the ones that blame Capcom for their own scenes not being as big.

It’s basically a “Fuck Capcom, come play OUR games!” type of thing.

WOW…SFxT is killing EVERYTHING in its path

Seth, if you randomly read this:

thanks for everything and best of luck with whatever your next plans are!

Well the scenes for the other games are kinda in the same place anyway, if not worse. SF4 only helped SF4.

The games themselves can carry a healthy tournament scene because they are good, but they are missing the sheep-like mentality and the pop-culture relevance necessary for FG success in the west.

While I am sad to think that Capcom’s chances of ever releasing a decent game again are slim, I am really hoping Seth returns to the FGC as the person who wrote the Domination 101 series. His Boxer was so good lol

and again, the scene wasnt dead, the interest of the general public was

ast tataki said, sf4 only revived the interest on the sf franchise, nothing more nothing less

they cant because idiots like you, that only have capcom in their mind or sf and mvc to be precise, meanwhile arcsys and namco are the ones that have the most popular games in their home country , not to mention that mk has been a strong franchise worldwide to point that alwyas selll well, and mk9 outsells what sf4 and mvc3 sold combined

I don’t think you can completely blame it on SFXT. Maybe he really just wanted to take on another challenge in life? He’s certainly earned that right from all the blood sweat and tears he’s put into this. Thanks for everything S-kill.
