not the entire time he will mix up ex TTs Rolls and early jump Hp during my block strings, now there is alot of prediction involves punishing either of those besides i guess jump back hp as i can punish it with ultra or far hp on reaction, forward jump hk to bait an ex tt is beaten by a jump back hp/mp easily and frame trapping with a dp during a block string is risky on rolls,as it will whiff on roll,
now tht i have tried TE on abel’s wakeup but wheel kick easily beats it,its like abel is complety an anti-seth lol.
i guess i got to play completely lame as none of rush down options are safe against him,but that is equally risky because of abel’s ultra, roll and ex wheel kick.
This is from vanilla, but most of the concepts are still applicable.
You’ll probably want to combo into SRK for better positioning instead of Hyaku.
this just sounds like you’re being to predictable with your mixups.
no its just tht damn hard matchup, where almost every move of opponent can beat ur moves, the guy has massive sf experience comparing to me who was a kof player and just recently started playing ssf4,but tht matchup is really difficult,1 because of abel’s knockdown mixups,2 his damage output is just so damn good,2 guesses are better then my 5.
It’s not bad, you just gotta feel out the abel player. I normally throw out alot of normal grabs after block strings in the beginning of the match just to see how he likes to get out, then just go from there… If he’s holding jump just slightly delay the block string to catch the jump frames then confirm into a combo… After that he’ll think twice about how to escape and that’s where you want him…
I honestly think Abel is kind of free for Seth. Just be careful with zoning until you can land that grab and go to town with any and all knockdowns you get because Abel can’t do much about them. Tanden, dive kicks, cross-ups, and SPD are just a nightmare for him to deal with. Of course, making one mistake with Seth will probably get you killed. You generally can make two mistakes with Seth but against heavy mix-up characters? And damaging ones at that? Yeah, only one.
So guys…how about that Guile match up now? I’m pretty much lost on this one with AE. Fought a few Guiles as Seth and basically got wreck every time unless they made big mistakes. And for some reason it seems like you can’t stuff flash kick at all anymore. I personally have troubles with Guile on everyone I use (I realize it’s me) but this one seems legitimately problematic. Help?
cannot combo a jump back mp/hp just far FP.
i think after getting a knock down its still a 50/50 as abel can get out of crossups, divekicks, which can be punish by tandem/spd,but both tandem and spd are tht one risk which leads to seth’s death.as a jump in mixup into ultra shud be enough,on the other hand if i do land another knock down i have to do tht at least 4 times, for abel one should be enough.
for guile i have beaten 15k to 20k guiles very well in super havent fought guile yet in ae,i think you have to rush down guile more in ae.after a mid range sonic boom guile has few options, which are far hp,target combo,overhead,jump-in and sweep, sweep the most risky of them,i used ultra 1 in tht matchup, for those options and it kinda stopped their mixups when i got ultra,u can sweep far hp on reaction if u can and go for mixups, stomps stuffed his flash kick very well in super,i dont think they will in ae and ultra 1 is not gonna be usefull anymore on ex sonic booms,so yeah predict a sonic boom and throw u1 immediately lol.
When did I say anything about that? I’m talking about catching abel’s startup jump back frames by continuing the c.lk then confirming into a combo…
the situation i was talking about he was jumping back after cr.lk,cr.lp blockstring,he will be too far to combo from another cr.lk.nevermind i tried crouch.mk sonic boom fadc combo and it worked good…
it seems like you can’t cheap to death with U2 now
i have tested it against guile sagat honda (the one i use U2 the most))
against
when he have super or ultra 1 charged you can’t cheap him but if he don(t have them you can (the flashkick won’t beat U2)
against sagat
even max range his ex tiger uppercut hits you
against honda
i have no tested it yet but in ranked all the honda i have fought did not reacted after the U2 (they didn’t know about the nerf i guess)
what do you think about the U2 now ?
(i still prefer the U2 because it have a lot lot a setup )
^ It’s the same in combos, but it lost it’s main use. I don’t like the new one, but I don’t see myself missing it too much.
Our forum totally needs a fucking overhaul… it’s just a bunch of dead disorganized threads and it’s pissing me off.
Kiku, are you still a mod around here?
anytips against yun and yang on wakeup, yun escapes by performing an ex dp and yang escapes by doing his ex teleport,i think i can os u1 against yun but cant against yang,he recovers so quick after teleport, what are you guys doing against them on wakeup.
Seth vs Abel = 2-8 lol.
why ? i think it is most like a 5-5
once abel down seth’s rushdown is very effective against abel (thx to abel’s nerf in AE )
but again you are not allowed to make any mistake because of the damage output and mixup of abel
so i think it is even
Yeah, that was just a salt filled statement. But I think the match-up got harder on AE… 6-4
IMO Seth beat Abel in super, and ae Seth will do the same.
I used to keep abel away until I got an opp to rush him down, but right now, it’s really hard to keep him out (I really miss j.HP) as he just rolls through everything, and usually catches me grounded. I can’t rush-him down properly because of his normals (air: j.HP/cr.Mk, ground: f.MK always beats any poke I try).
I know it’s my fault and that this match-up should feel a lot more balanced, but I’m really not digging fighting Abel in AE.
Also, only buff I’m liking and really feeling is the new j.HP. It’s a great air-to-air and it stuffs lots of anti-airs.
Guys I was wondering if anyone could help me with the Dudley matchup? There is a crazy good Dudley player locally and I can’t bully him with Shoryuken because he uses that annoying cross counter move of his. When I expect it, I empty jump and just stop blockstrings then punish with a focus attack. When I score a knockdown my mind games and mix ups seem to get me the damage to win the game. If I empty jump cross up after an SPD and he uses dash or ducking I suck him in with tanden engine and punish with a combo, but are there any specific things I should be doing in this matchup besides what I mentioned? Are there any option selects I should be using?
Kikuichimonji might be able to help you with that. Dudley rapes me too with his st.HP.
Cross counter loses to lows.
