Guy’s getting up there with Blanka as my oh-god-not-again-loss-inc char, that air grab is sooo frustrating.
cant you just s.fp his flip
You can probably do anything, best thing would be teleport to the other side for free combo.
St.fp and St.rh (both close versions) are great against Guy as both destroy his elbow drops and bushin flips. St.fp is better because if he tries to feint the flip with the elbow st.fp (far) will hit him still. If he even attempts to jump or bushin flip feint when you have super or ultra, gg.
If you can tech throws and AA his bushin flips with normals and SRK his jumps then he has nothing on Seth for the most part. His mix-up is mediocre and without metre he can not handle pressure.
If the Guy player uses the “uncrouchable flip” gimmick on your wake-up then you can use cr.lp on wake-up to cancel the crouch animation frames to avoid it or use a move with invul or teleport.
I’m personally having trouble with Hondas as of late. Zoning him out with sonic booms and AA’s seem the safest way of dealing with him, but if he gets inside, one hit / combo and he can turtle away all day every day. Any way to crack them after they’ve fallen into this shell?
Nothing easy or exploitable I’m afraid. Don’t be predictable in your approach and mix up your offense is the best advice I can give. Check out how OnlineTony played against Mike Ross:

OnlineTony did his shit with Seth as expected against Ross, but to me, Ross was more at fault for his loss than Tony was. While they both played solid, at the end Ross fell for the same shit again and again, throwing away his win.
I suppose that’s more or less what to garner for the matchup though. Hope the Honda does something stupid. As demonstrated by the same video, when Super-Honda gets in, pray to god you can escape.
Is any Seth players out there having trouble with Adon ? It feels like I can’t zone/space him out. His ultra 2 can hit you full screen if you throw a fireball, almost all of his moves punish fireballs and his air special(forgot the name of it) shuts down J.fp, and his grab kinda throws me off- his stance makes him look like hes miles away from me and he still gets me.
Haven’t tested this fully because i only ever see an Adon when the moon is full and the neighbours are sacrificing another goat at exactly midnight (at least i hope it’s a goat, i doubt they can find many virgins in this city…but i digress) but as far as i know every version of Jaguar Tooth (his walljump move) are free LP SPD on block, and the ones i met tend to try that one a lot. Other than that i haven’t been into training yet to test what works against Adon since i never see one anyway, it’s not top priority =D
This is my main issue. Adon is a character with jerky animations, so it’s hard to react to his tick throws. Anyways, go U1 on this match up. It completely shuts down his full screen options. Just get fullscreen, crouch and do nothing. If he just think of jumping or jaguar toothing or whatever the fuck, Take him for a ride on the Tanden Engine.
His SRK-like Jaguarstuff is really weak on start-up and I think every low move beats it, except for EX. He also has quite a bit of recovery on it.
What’s really troubling are the Adons that can use his little instant-air axe kick thingy. Breaks focus and has a pretty nice, long hitbox. I also think it’s safe on block. Your best bet is to be on the lookout for that and SRK him whenever he tries it. Either that or backdash+lp.Tanden.
What’s up with Chun?
She’s got big thighs?
Looking more for a basic gameplan of what Seth should be doing, I’ve got a really heated money match with a Chun player at a OH regional Aug 21st and I don’t know the matchup all too well.
Yo Big Papa,
I’m going to break down the Chun match-up with my man Deezo (Solid ass Chun player) on Monday. If you’d like, I can hit you up with my findings.
Another good person to hit up would be OnlineTony, he plays Shizza on a pretty consistant basis and had some insight for me while we were chillin’ at Evo.
Yeah, hit me up with the findings, imma go to the chun boards and see who I can play there.
If you guys want to play a good chun, add WeirdoNeo, he played Juri at Evo, but he has a good ass Chun. I think he placed 13th. Just tell him Jason told u to play him. He’s in Alaska also, so WC only.
neo was that Juri player that showed on stream? i really liked seeing him play.
Yeah, he plays Juri/Chun/Akuma, but mostly Juri and Chun.
@Warlike: Dude, if I were to set you up to play against the best Gen player I know, would you do it? You’re in europe and you used to play Gen, right? that’s why I’m asking you.
i seriously need people to start checking this match up out, because 90% of the gens are lost without mk>hands except for this guy who never relied on it in the first place. And a lot of people are disregarding Gen because, like what happened with Adon, someone said he was ASS.
Is the best Gen you’re talking about Guds Skyfall?
