Damn Sakura can do it too?! I have had this done to me by a Zangief EX SPD, it seems Seth’s recovery on Tanden Typhoon is ass, even on hit. I think alot of characters’ moves with low start up frames will get Seth easily. I only ever do Tanden Typhoon if it will definately kill them now, otherwise just go for the stomps.
Has anyone figured out the Cody matchup?
Seems like Cody has a normal AA for almost all of Seth’s jump in options.
Why is the fact that you can’t jump in a big deal?
Cody seems like a really easy match up to me. Jab SPD his short and forward Ruffians, roundhouse too if it’s deep. Mix up your jump ins with dive kick and cross up, zone him out with sonic boom, he can’t really keep up. U1 punishes rocks easy, so does EX Legs if you time it correctly. Just zone Cody with Fireballs, and when he makes a mistake just punish and get in his face.
So, what about Chun? Just zone her out or?

As for that U2 recovery bullshit, it’s situational as far as i can tell, since I tested it on Sakura and managed to get what seemed to be only a slight frame advantage for me. Which fucking sucks but… yeah. Anyone care to test WHY it sometimes let’s you get punished for it (besides capcom hating and regretting ever creating Seth…)
You can’t rush her down though, she just pokes you to death >.<
For Chun, use Seth’s Dive kick pressure and head stomp mixups in the corner. Dive kick and Head stomp both beat out EX sbk. Try to keep her in the corner, and don’t boom when she has ultra1. Like Kata kun said, use U1. U2 is just crappy altogether.

Really? I’ve never had a problem, since she has always been lacking in the Anti-air department so i just kill them with Dive kick mixups.
I don’t think I’ve ever fought a really good Chun like… ever though.
I guess what you want is U1 and a keepaway game. Playing footsies with chun is not really something you want to do, especially not now with Kikosho, since she can hit confirm>Ultra you anywhere on screen. If she has U1, obviously hold back on the Booms unless you have meter to FADC backwards, and zone her just with the arms.
Don’t try to go air-to-air with her either, because HP~HP>Whatever Hurts a lot, and don’t try lp.SRK either since that gets stuffed kinda easily. Go for the sure dmg wherever you can get it, Chun has quite the comeback potential I believe.
Yeah, that was my mistake when I was playing out best Chun, I kept trying to to go air to air and rush her down really hard and it got me killed, really really quick. Check me out gettin raped.

Good shit on that bro… Bison really is a hard matchup, FREE didn’t do anything special there and still managed to take a round.
Bison is a very easy match up imo. Bison can’t do scissor pressure, loses to DP in air, j.sp beat’s a lot of his moves air to air, and U2 is probably better in this match up.
Allow me to disagree, because I high dmg output, better footsies (omg lk-mk-hk) and a pretty good U2 which automatically generates mix-up situations AND punishes jumps make him a hard match-up for me.
Bison’s ultra 2 punishes both Sonic Boom and j.hp on reaction.

However, I don’t think you were necessarily playing it wrong against Chun. There were some slip ups on that match, like random SRKs out of nowhere and dive kicks whiffing with no SPD behind them.
