The mystery tournament is going to be the highlight of everybody’s year! If you are coming to this tournament, you should highly consider signing up for it. Every time you sit down to face a new opponent in the brackets of the mystery game tournament, you’ll be playing a new game. So game 1 might be Street Fighter, and game 2 might be Goldeneye. The possibilities are endless.
People have been PMing me some basic questions, so I listed some some of the basic info below for the event.

Snap… maybe I’ll come out of my online cave and participate… always knew Chicago had somewhat of a scene, but they were really kind of noticed when Keits did UFGT7… but that’s just my opinion
I gave up SFIV after UFGT7 and haven’t even touched AE, and even I might get into that Team War. Anything could happen in a single round.
I don’t play SF4 either, but I’m definitely entering both Team Wars. I will earn my team a Handicap Bomb!

It certainly will. We will have two streams, one for Shooter Side and one for Fighter Side. Both will be presented by Focus-Fire.
NOOOOOO!!! I really wish this wasnt this weekend (North Coast Music Festival) but I know this is going to be an excellent tournament if its even a fraction as good as UFGT. To the people complaining no one is forcing you to join shit, and if you’re not even going why even bother commenting these people work hard providing top notch tournaments for players to compete in. If no one is supporting “your” game of choice don’t get mad at them, get mad at the community for not coming out. Ill be watching friday and sunday.

Yes! Because it is single elimination, the payout is as follows for auctions;
1st - 60%
2nd - 30%
Tie for 3rd - 5% each
For reference, the prize pool for the last SSF4 auction was 530 dollars. That would make the payouts 318/159/26.5/26.5. This means that getting 3rd wouldn’t get 42 dollar blanka his money back. Aim for the top!
Will MK finals really be set to 3/5 rounds for semis and finals? Never seen a tournament that did this.
Unless I’m imagining things just yesterday you had all DLC characters banned on the site. Now it says nothing about this. Since Evo Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain are allowed in MK tournaments but Freddy needs to be banned. There is a common hitbox glitch where projectiles pass through him.
Most of the MK players I’ve talked to have said Rain is pretty ridiculous too. Right now, we are sticking with a ban on DLC MK characters and Kratos. Also, only Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals will be 3/5. Everything else is 2/3. Sorry for any confusion there.
Rain Ridiculous? I don’t see why you ban any of the DLC because they are strong/good characters. That’s like the ‘No cheap’ tournament Ohio ran a bit back that had no XFactor no Phoenix/Wolverine.
Freddy is the only DLC character that is actually ‘broken’ so I see no reason why you are banning the 3 viable DLC characters. Kenshi Rain and Skarlett all have a gameplan within the system of the game. Rain isn’t even super godlike anyway lol.
I don’t know of anyone that considers Rain to be ridiculous or even a top character. You sure you’re not thinking of Skarlet? There is talk of her having some lopsided matchups but it’s untested in a major tournament(first will be Summer Jam).
I’m willing to allow them if its what you guys want. It really isn’t a problem either way. I’ll ask around a bit tomorrow and see what a few more folks have to say on the matter.
