With the way I play Double (correctly), the nerfs have very little impact on me.

Cats don’t build meter? No problem. You should be using cats to reset anyway. It should be no hassle to just attempt to reset the opponent later in cats so that they disappear just as your combo gets going. If you don’t know how to reset with Double you should probably stop playing Double solely for the assist (if anything these nerfs are targeted to weaken this type of player) and learn the character a bit.

jHP hitstun reduction is fair. It did seem a little unusual that Double could get a full combo off an air-to-air.

The Lv3 nerfs are fine because Double’s meter should be going towards cats, cats, and the occasional car. No problem.

When Mvc2 was abandoned it lasted 10 years.

Click Clack. When Mk9 lasted into my garbage can and SFxT is already done its blatant what patches do to games in the long run

What happens if you do like it?

MVC2 lasted because there was no other street fighter vs x-men title after it. Hell for all the shit people talk they sure didn’t run back to MVC2 after playing MVC3. SFxT was troubled patches are not. Bad patching is no different than putting out a bad game.

I’m starting to think the ones complaining and the ones responding to said complaining do this type of thing more than actual playing.

Most of the changes are being made now because the eu/us psn compatiblity issue have given them a chance to patch things along with it. DLC must be payed for them too not just for you, while a bugfix patch can be free if sony/microsoft gives you the opportunity to fix things.
Most of the changes are bugfixes like nomloops not triggereing ips. Hk hornet nerf was something that ppl cried for and they had to do it because the community has that kind of power too.
As for the IPS overhaul. It was designed to be less forgiving but then it was changed to the current version. I think it was implied that giving tons of meter to the enemy will discourage too long combos and that resets will be more partical to go with. Yet it was not how things went and combos are getting longer and longer making the other player into not even a player anymore just a dummy you can hit.
So what should you do if you want shorter combos and encorage resets? Should you imput a burst into the game? That wouldnt really work for that purpose. Should you give MORE meter for the enemy the longer the combos are? That didnt work the first time.
And thats how the decision to change the IPS came i think. I can be very well wrong.
Also with DLC chars down the line for who knows how long there could be another change as they are brought into the game.

True, buuuuut . . . he seemed to have wanted a stricter IPS from the beginning, but wanted to see it played out. He doesn’t want this to be a TOD heavy game, and the community was already starting to find some truly scary ones.

Too soon? Definitely, but it couldn’t hurt to nip it in the bud it it seems to be going in a direction he doesn’t like.

This patch might not even be implemented until EVO is done, just because it takes that long.

Well Aabra wouldnt you think it would ended up being worst to learn a game for 6 months then have it “drastically” change it as you say. Even though its not a big change at all. Its not like you have to learn brand new combos or play a character completely different. Besides what would be different if these exact changes came out 6 months later people would still complain about these "nerfs"
And to the person who asked about peacocks teleport nerf 3 frames is not bad at all and is barley noticeable sense you cant see 3 frames if that makes sense.

Considering the IPS resets during DHC’s/CSC’s, TOD’s and long combos could still very well be likely they’ll just require more meter spend.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but, still to this day i get on PSN mvc2 and there is NUMEROUS lobbies to play in. It actually STILL has a huge following it’s just not shown cause it’s been in the spotlight for 10 years, you know how long it takes for me to get a ranked match in skullgirls? Never cause i give up on waiting even getting a normal unranked match takes a good 20min or 15min, its obvious the numbers are low and then pop a gameplay change and lose even more players.

I honestly honestly don’t think it’ll be too soon, really the sooner the better. You’ve gotta stay right on top of these things.
