It’s not just the invincibility on the HK Bomber assist. Honestly if LK and MK Bomber are invulnerable then hey - at least there’s something. Maybe the team will still be viable? There are however a slew of other nerfs coming Double’s way… and putting Double aside for a moment. The Infinite Protection System is being completely changed. There are a lot of game-changers in the list… do we really want to completely change the game before we even know what we’re doing? 1 month is not enough time to know that this is what needs to be changed. Wait 6 months - then make the changes. Be smart about it. That’s all we’re asking.
Well, what about the fact that those ToD combos are only accessible to a portion of the cast? Don’t you think it will lead to a balance issue if Painwheel/Double/Parasoul/M.Fortune players are doing ToD combos, while everyone else is maxing out around 50-60% damage?
This post reminds me of how much people don’t understand that this is more of an indie game in progress than a full release game that’s getting patches all over the place.
I like broken things…but the characters and their tools will still be very powerful even with these minor changes.
I’ve seen ToD but they need to meet a lot of different requirements that to be honest most of the times won’t happen on a real match

Again, I’m not so agianst the patch, it is actually helping my team a lot on certain matches, my point was that it is really early (imo) to patch the game but ok, I was just giving my points of view on this
Watching the stream where he discusses the patch changes confirms this attitude. Nearly everything he changed he mentioned was something he wanted to change originally but left in because he wanted to see what happened.

sometimes you play the card you were dealt. I played Juri in ssf4 shes garbage but i play her cause i like her not cause i wanna dominate all the time, In skullgirls i picked Parasoul/Double as soon as i got the game is it my fault the characters are good? No. Is it a problem with making a character good? No.

He knows how to gauge a game, and he may not be psychic, I do trust his judgement in the GAME HE MADE.
He wants this game to be focused on resets, he wants you to take risks, he does not want this to be another Blazblue.
He’s just balancing the game around his vision, which was what he was already going to do.
And I still don’t see how Double is getting the “nerf bat”, so she can’t build meter during Cattelies? Makes sense, jumping fierce getting a litter shorter, okay, it’s not like you cannot do your same combos, just press the goddamn button faster, HK invul gone, well, we all know why that happened, it’s not right, but you’re gonna have to hold dat.
If this game is all about his vision, all about what he wants and what he wants it to be. Then why the hell would you release that to the public just keep it to yourself? especially if you will patch things whenever to suit w/e thought you have.

This is normally how content creation works. People working on these things usually say “I have this really awesome idea that will work in x way, and I think many people will enjoy it!”, then the idea gets made.

Or maybe it’s because long combos are not fun for the people that play the half of the cast that does not have access to super long combos. I play Valentine and Filia, and I can tell that outside of the green vial combos, Valentine and Filia are NEVER going to have ToD combos. As more and more ToD combos are discovered and become more viable, Valentine and Filia would have become worthless to play over time.
What you keep arguing for is to make it so half of the cast becomes inviable to play in the long run, just so you can do 30-40 second long combos.
There are other people who want to play it.
There’s other fighting games if you don’t want to play this one anymore.
People that complain about kneejerk patches have absolutely no idea how game development and support actually works.
That said, the combo fix is gonna make me have to go back and try the game again ><
