Sentinel Kneejerk Patch for Skullgirls?

Whats to say there aren’t mind games if you end up in the blindspot of Double’s HK Bomber? If you have Bella/Double, and you crouch in the deadzone of Double’s assists(which you have to respect) its a free super for Bella. Plus I’m not talking being able to “beat” the assist, I saying what assist gives you all that I’ve listed? You still won’t answer that question.

In general the big problem is the characters don’t have special moves that are strong for space control which is why people are running to Double butt as an assist.

The invincibility and hard knockdown nerf pretty much has to kick in the way the game is going so that there is some sort of balance and reason to use other assists outside of the invincible ones. Now it can cover space better than any other assist while not also being one of the best invincible assists.

It’s not broken but it leaves very little reason to use any other assists minus the other invincible ones ATM.

So Mr. Zaimont’s philosophy on game balance meant absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. That’s a little upsetting.

And then what another patch because people QQ? Ima complain too i guess for no reason i want Parasoul to have a air dash, how come fillia and valentine have one but not the rest of the cast thats unfair!

I thought Mike Z stated that the invincibility on HK hornet bomber was a bug a long time ago, did my brain make that up?

The patch itself was granted because of the US/EU not connecting on PSN. He doesn’t know when the next patch he’ll be granted so he’s doing as much as he can for the long term health of the game.

All the changes are still Mike’s decision. Even Hornet Bomber, he decided what changed about it even if he didn’t want to change it.

We all knew Mike was making the game he wanted to play, if he sees something not helping that goal, he’ll change it.

As someone that actually plays Double a lot, she’s not nerfed as bad as people think:
j. HP hitstun reduction: As I said in the quoted post above, this was a typo. J. HP was never supposed to have 37 frames of hitstun. Maybe this will get people to start using j. MP, which is a really good jump in as well.
Level 3: According to Mike, most level 3’s do between 4-5k damage. Double’s did 6.8k. A drop in damage to reflect the damage of other characters’ level 3’s is fine. The fact that you can’t combo after it now means it’s use is the same as Parasoul’s level 3: you use it at the end of a long combo and it still does a bunch of damage. The level 3’s you can combo after are usually ones that do very little damage late in a combo and are much better if they’re used early.
Hornet Bomber Invinicibility and Knockdown: Hornet Bomber is now almost exactly like Fortune’s DP in regards to invincibility: If you want better range and coverage, you’ll need to sacrifice invincibility. I’m expecting people to switch to LK/MK and continue on as they are. On point, HK will only be used for combos. The techable knockdown virtually only affects the move as an assist.
No meter build during Catelites: It was already very low during Catelites, this isn’t too big a deal.

Might I remind that LK bomber and MK bomber still the same way they are? That you just don’t get the massive range you get with HK bomber? So you can still use it as your get me off assist or whatever you want on your team. If you still want HK, you sacrificing invincibility for range. Makes perfect sense to me.

Seriously, just get with the program, or be left in the dust. Skullgirls is still owned by a company in their own right, if having PSN/XBLA filled with peacock/double all day is bad for new customers to enjoy the game, then I’m perfectly fine with them swinging the nerfbat.

peacock isnt even a good character and seriously how hard is it to hold BACK and block a double assist. Capcom has the right idea with Mvc3 they dont patch crap at all and all those wesker QQers are STILL QQing and other people still enjoy the game, there will always be a couple of scrubs that complain about everything. But the majority doesn’t even care and find it good to learn how to fight against something. And what you’re saying is stupid cerebella assist is just as good, people will be crying vs peacock/cerebella the same way

Hornet Bomber HK is overrated anyway, if you say the Boxarena or WNF you notice that many Peacocks were smart enough to use Hornet Bomber LK/MK because it’s unduckable anyway.

If people are REALLY smart they will realize how underrated Cilla Slide is…not that people realize how useful that assist is anyway.

Game released April 11th… Balance patch discussed May 21st…

Capcom does this and it’s the end of the world but Mike Z does it and it’s suddenly ok? Come on people. Evo is right around the corner and while Skullgirls may not be part of the main tournament you can be damn sure there’s going to be some high profile side tournament(s) of it. You’re going to completely change the game right before such an event? You just don’t do that. It’s not cool when Capcom does it and it’s not cool when Mike does it either. What is up with the double standard that some of you have?

MK will still be good if YOU NEED it to be invincible. Otherwise just make a 3 person team and just give yourself something invincible to go with Double’s HK hornet bomber. All this nerf really does is possibly force 3 people teams for HK Double assist. Boo hoo.

MVC3 had patches all over the place too. Sentinel was already set to be patched BEFORE the game even came out (but was not officially patched until after the game released). UMVC3 alone patched a ton of shit compared to MVC3 and in general Vanilla MVC3 had a lot of random shit taken away before Ultimate.

MVC3 to UMVC3 has been just a whole big left and right of changes but luckily the game is about powerful, oppressive stuff where people are still powerful for the most part despite.

There’s no release date on the patch.

Thank god they havent nerfed my girl Filia. But anyway peacock gets wrecked on that team for anyone with airborne moves. I just spam the shit out of heavy hairball after jumping because peacock players on that team are always pressing buttons and get blown up by it. though its impossible for me to read Double right now so I got problems with that half.
