There gotta be more ppl on SRK that has this game.
Anyway, check out the #snrduo channel on Rizon like Checkerpatch says. There are usually people looking for match making in the afternoons and evenings. Dunno about daytime, since I’m never on.
Netcode is yet to be patched, but there are workarounds to get lagless matches in (although it doesn’t always work).
I hated DUO at first, but the more I play it, the more I like it. I played Rev.X extensively for years, and got too accustomed to how it plays, so DUO’s learning curve was considerably steeper than what I was expecting. There have been a lot of changes, and some of them I didn’t like at all. But I’m starting to enjoy DUO a lot more, now that I’ve learned to adjust my play style and tolerate the changes I’m not fond of.
I still prefer the gameplay in Rev.X, but I think DUO isn’t too far behind now.

The sound pack is totally worth it, as it comes with 32 new music tracks!!
I did some googling about G.rev and they apparently operate on very small capital, and don’t make much money either. They seem to do a lot of small outsourcing work for other developers, and make their own games when they have enough fund. In a interview, their developers said they would like to make a sequel to Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta but they just don’t have the money.
I’ve bought every single DLC for DUO so far, though, so I did my part to help…
Just a heads-up that there’s a poll in Aksys Games’ forum to voice people’s requests for the next game Aksys should localize. Senko Duo is one of the options, although it’s not doing so hot at the moment :wasted: Still, any support is welcome.
Really, Senko should win that poll. Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu will probably eventually be localized by someone given the success of the iPhone version, and Arcana Heart 3 apparently wasn’t that good of a game. People who don’t speak Japanese definitely can’t get everything they want out of Senko 2 because the story mode has a massive amount of text, and Japanese helps to read about the finer points of the game system.
Senko 2 is a fantastic game that could do decently in the states if handled by a company like Aksys, namely: their connection to the fighting game scene via BlazBlue, pretty good translation rep and their lack of fear to sell a game with the original art intact (unlike XSEED with Wartech).
AH3 is probably the best arcade fighting game out right now, but I think DUO or DFK should be allowed to win because they are 360 exclusives (thus not region free). The chance of DUO winning the poll seems to be slim to none in the current standings, though. It really can’t be helped when there isn’t whole a lot of interest by the general public.
lol I played DUO with Xie a couple times when we were hanging out, didn’t think I’d end up seeing it as a prospect for localization.
In all honesty though AH3 makes the most sense, the sales that DUO would generate in America wouldn’t really justify the effort it would take them to localize this game. As opposed to AH3, especially given the huge momentum currently behind fighting games.
For the 3 or 4 of you who care, DUO has been updated to version 2.2(110426)
This is a balance patch. Information on the changes can be found here : ???Dis-United Order
I’ll list the changes here too, translated (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) :
UrsureAB sub attack lasts longer when activated, B cartridge sub weapon reloads faster.
CuilanAB Spark Ball doesn’t last as long, normal bullets and melee are weaker. ( )
JasperAB laser blade portion of main attack is weaker, BOSS is weaker.
FabianAB attack power when using main attack during barrier or dash has been increased.
MikaAB health has been decreased.
ErnulaAB BOSS takes more damage from attacks that deal continuous damage (such as napalm).
