Senko no Ronde 2 aka DUO - there's actual info now!

I hope it doesn’t get passed over for US release when it hits 360!

Considering how terribly the first one performed in the US on the 360, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Unless Ignition, Valcon or another smaller publisher picks it up, I don’t see Ubi picking up the series again.

SNR got absolutely horrible review attention, though it looks akin to a typical shmup in practice if you ignore the competitive aspect and take the imput your screen gets as absolute, and they’re often liked. Just shows how close minded the mainstream media has grown to become.

It’s out and apparently they’re calling it senko no rondO now instead of ronde. In any event, it’s awesome and here’s some tournament vids.

Im hoping this game makes it to SBO next year. Its quite interesting to watch…

I love it, I’m gonna be playing it most of the day today because it has won my affection over daemon bride ;-).

For people living in Japan, Grev has updated their Senko events list at the website:

Lots of free plays and tourneys coming up! One in Tokyo today in a place I was just at but didn’t know! Fuxx!

Hoping this would come out for the PS3 this time.

Seeing that I doubt that they would release in PAL land again.

Same here (although TBH it’s like the publishers over here want games like this to fail, no avertising or anything, the first one just snuck quietly onto the shelves and then disappeared, hell even the pirates can’t get their hands on it now)

just caught wind of this news a few days ago but i thought i should post it in case DUO is still on the radar for any of you. along with some character and system rebalancing, ver2.00 will feature returning characters sakurako and ernula in their original rounders. also it seems cuilan and lanatus have become assist types, not sure where they stand on the character grid so no info on partner type or bomb effect.

check out GREVchannel on youtube for the new character intro vids of course…

…also check out the DUO ost as well!!!

Posted a summary of the update here:

Haven’t been out to arcades much lately, but when I have been, people have been playing dat Senko, which is good news.

I’m really hoping somebody picks this up for the US. If not then it’s time for the J360 card to get played.

One of the few games I can dominate at, and hardly no one plays.

I enjoyed playing the first game. Even though to date, I’ve only had 8 matches, it was fun. I only played about one person who was able to keep up with my movement, but I enjoyed the limited competition. It’s unfortunate more people do not play SnR, because it’s a very well balanced fighting game. Well…after the upgrades.

As much as I like seeing Fabian return…if there’s no Sakurako clone, my incentive to play has just dropped by 50%. She was the B.O.S.S. slayer.

At least it’s coming to console.

It’s something else if its RF or localized.

I will have the 360 port in my hands soon after release. Looking forward to this game way more than SSF4.

Kind of annoying to hear that Changpo and Cuilan have both modes in A and S-tier even after ver 2.0 revision, but oh well…

Add me on XBL if you got a JP360 and plan to play the game!

Changpo’s bullet setups will always be top tier, it seems. Especially with her high mobility.

Sakurako was made a playable character in DUO after it was updated to v2.00 (as was Ernula).

Now Lili and Karel are the only SnR1 characters that are still not playable. Hope that changes.

All is right with the world.

Release date delayed until May 20. :frowning:

BTW, this thread seems to be stagnating with little attention, so I created one on Dust Loop couple of days ago. I have a XBL GT list going on in that one too, so check it out.

I love the look of this game and I can’t wait for the console release.

…but I’ve been wondering this for a while now…this is considered a fighting game? If so…then awesome. lol

In my opinion, if FG was 10 and STG was 1, Senko no Ronde would lie somewhere around 3.

But it does share mind game elements, and execution does matter a lot (although in more of a STG way than a FG way). It’s closer to being a FG than any other non-FG arcade games, if that makes sense.
