Seismo xx Seismo - Performance Questions

Hey all.

I’m wondering if someone can post a video of this and slow it down, pointing out when you should input X motion for the next seismo.

I seem to be able to do it 50% or so of the time so when I try to do the input when I think I’m suppose to, it doesn’t come out making me think I just got lucky when it did work. For some reason, when I’m on the left, I only seem to be able to do it using :df::df::ub: but on the right side, I can only do it with :bdp::l::ub:.

What kind of controller/stick are you using? When I was using my crap Hori EX2 stick I also had to try different motions on different sides to get it to work. With my Custom Sanwa stick…it comes out like butter now with the same motion on both sides. I still use the same motion I mentioned earlier which is seismo, f,d,df,d,u+P.

Like everything is easier once I got that stick. I can do c.MK to Ultra in training mode pretty consistently, can actually pull off EX Seismo, SJ cancelled FADC Ultra on Xbox Live in laggy connections (meaning I’m slightly more consistent offline, LOL) and can actually do Dashio/Kindebu style regular jump cross up burn kicks with some consistency.

I also just figured out how to spam rapid fire HP feints when you have no meter. On Sanwa buttons it’s hella easy. qcb+HP~MP+HPXXXN. I can Kensou the hell out of people on the start of the round now. 15 HP feints in 5 seconds should award you extra style points every match.

I can’t post a video, but I think I might have a really good explanation for you.

The key is to look at Viper and wait until after the dust around her created from the first seismo appears. I believe what gets most people is the timing; not the movement although I use the f qcf to uf motion.

Try delaying your Seismo slightly longer than normal (even though you may feel the urge to go faster) and let me know how it goes.

awww we cant post pictures in here anymore?

that is an awesome gif lol im prolly going to try doing it like that now :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks InfernoOmni and NeoBlood. The explaination and the image (just awesome) helped. I can’t do it consistantly but I can do it probably around 80% of the time. I’ve been able to do five seismos in a row a few times so I really think I’m getting a good handle on it.

DevilJin: I’m actually using the SE FightStick. It’s been unmodded and I know that I have to mod it to get the most use out of it. Honestly though, I don’t think it’s a terrible stick and works for the most part. I don’t have much trouble pulling off stuff though I’ve never been able to pull off any of the crazy stuff I’ve seen with Viper. I’ve got some spare Sanwa buttons that I’ll going to put in and I’m waiting on LizardLick to open again to buy a joystick and octo gate.

Here’s a video. It’s not slowed down or anything, but you can hear it very clearly.

Thanks alot for that vid, the sound actually helped me get the rhythm down, now I just have to work on consistency, and then doing it in a match :looney:

I can only really get 2 in a row so far but between rapid feints thread and this one, I gotta say this is one of the most useful moves.
By rapid fainting and then using something like a med punch seismo when they land and pushing them back I’ve shut down Zangiefs and made more than one rufus hold block anytime I needed a breather from his jumping kicks.

Definately one of vipers best moves! You guys are awesome for sharing these tips!

I find I don’t use this very often, but when it actually hits someone its pretty nice. People block the first one then stand or try to jump the 2nd and they get rocked.

You can actually do 6 in a row. 2 light, 2 med, 2 hard.

Against turtlers, this is a win-win situation. If they disregard the fact that you’re hurting them even thought they’re turtling, they take 30 damage for each one they block (adds up pretty quickly, too). If they don’t like it and stop turtling, well, that eases things up for us. WIN-WIN BABY

I usually go mid range and start with the mp seismo, so I can keep my distance and use it 3x before I’m out of range. That usually stops most types of turtlers.

Yup that is very true, I typically use it outside of combos for chip dmg or on wake up. But yeah half screen is beast for this IMO, even when I don’t use it much.

I practice faints to med seismo for those trying to jump in at the first sign of a flash.
Also I’ve won by chipping with ex-seismo’s to waste my bar when they have very low health since they cant jump out of it.

While I don’t rely on this move, I think its a must have in her arsenal. Also wake up chip dmg. I’ve knocked blankas out of their ball attacks as they try to wake up with it. But FYI, don’t try wake up seismo’s on chun if she has an ex  Fake it instead

i use seismo xx seismo 70% of the time in my strategy. i got the hint because of viper’s forward throw. since your opponent gets thrown full screen, i follow up with a seismo when they wake-up. especially with turtle sagats and rufus. since their body is wide they still get hit sitting down blocking. i get at least 4-5 off when they dont realize it

Well I’ve been messing around with this for the past couple days and finally got it down to where I can hit 5 in a row pretty easily. The only method that works for me is :dp::r::uf:. Other than that I just start it when the yellow energy stuff that pops up around Viper starts to dissipate. Works great. Thanks for all the advice in here.

same thing i look for as well, ive won rounds off of seismo chip.

Just went back into the thread and saw that you said it first. I figured someone already did. It’s worth repeating though since I find it to be a very easy method.

I’m absolutely amazed at how well the 32149 method works. I’m not even worried about accidentally high-jumping forward it works so well. Was able to get off 6 in a row twice in a row within a minute of trying that method. Absolutely tech.

I have evolved into using the 6239 method. Timing is more key here but I actually feel better using this method in a match.

I found 6239 easiest. I love it cuz it has that rhythm to it when I do the input. I was able to do seven in a row pretty effortlessly after a couple minutes.
