How the hell is that working, i’m vexed by the directional inputs that work for shit in this game.
lol. The inputs in this game are crazy. I forget which thread I found this shortcut but when facing right I use :df::qcb::df: for DP motions. I find it to be faster than just :df::df: and it still works.
I’m going to see what kind of crazy shortcuts will work for seismo xx seismo basing off of that motion.
To be honest, I have no idea. This has gotten me kicked in the face SO MANY TIMES online. I’ll be trying to do a HP TK, but this shitty seismo will come out somewhere off the screen and I’ll catch the j.RH,cr.RH hardcore.
I’ll try that out too.
:df::df: doesn’t exactly work for :dp:. i was sitting in training mode looking at the inputs, and seismo never came out on exactly :df::df: but it did on :df::d::df:.
Yeah, I’ve seen it work both ways. It’s unreliable as shit, though.
For left side Seismo xx Seismo, I do :df::df::uf::lp: ad infinitum, but for right side, I do :qcf::ub::lp: and so forth.
My execution is quirky like that.
be careful with that motion on the right side as it SHOULD give you a TK. I mentioned earlier the most consistent way is to do :db::qcf::ub:+:p:
and as always, WAIT UNTIL HER HAND HITS THE GROUND THEN DO THE MOTION. This one tip has helped my game 110%. Its the easiest way to remember the timing in the heat of a match.
Viper on the left side of the screen facing right: :dp::r::uf: + :p:
Viper on the right side of the screen facing left: :bdp::l::ub: + :p:
There’s a rhythm to it. sound wise i wait a half second after she yells to start the next seismo or visually when that yellow flash is there i start the next seismo. If you super jump you started to early or hit :p: too late, usually the 1st one though and if she stays grounded you didn’t follow through with the up dirction input.
Another Viper from Downey! Too bad im on xbox
I got 6 off in a row of this in training last night with the :df::df::u: method.
Yup that’s my preferred method too. Jumping straight up if you mess up works really well too.
I can never get that shortcut to work, except unintentionally
also: viper is god.
df df u works really great for me.
I only have to get the timing right… too often i mess it up
But anyway…thanks for the tips.
Well now that I’ve been messing around in training mode again I’ve found another method that’s a bit more consistent for me. Now I mix in a combination of the direct and shortcut methods and for whatever reason it was more consistent for me. Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m using the cheap Hori 360 stick. Normally I’d have trouble doing more than 2 in a row on block even with the shortcut unless I was really concentrating.
I do :dp::d::u: + Punch.
I think you should NEVER use a method that ends in the :uf: position which by itself is the jump forward direction. If you mess up you’re forced to super jump forward at the opponent and especially with the very ST like air defensive options you have (absolutely ZERO) you’re gonna die if the opponent sees this and swats you out of the air with Ultras or DP’s or whatever. Watching the Japanese play whenever they mess up seismo cancels they always either jump straight up or jump back. This is because they know jumping forward without a plan in SFIV = death. If even they mess it up you want to make sure that when you mess it up you aren’t jumping in the worst direction possible.
i do that but end in ub so if i get a sj its backwards.
:dp: :u: + :hp: is what i use too.
Yeah ok I never thought about that, time to change it up again.
It’s a snapshot of inputs put into a buffer. The engine parses the buffer and executes the moves it interprets. So regardless of what directions you have, so long as you have :dp: or :df::df: it reads dp (well, according to whatever patterns they are matching for). I actually have no idea, but I made up this explanation and it makes sense to me.
BTW I am absolute garbage at this game.
Motions only help people to a certain extent, remember to just find one you’re comfortable with and just adjust your timing if you’re messing it up. For some people, some longer motions help them time the rapid seismo better.
This is what I do to do ex seismo xx seismo
My mindset is “I have literally all day to SJC after the first hit. You know the window (all day btw if i didn’t mention) of time to sjc. you CAN do it within that huge time frame.”
I used to think you have like 1 frame to sjc or else.
I do the tiger knee motion after the first one.
