does any one know the measurements of the seimitsu ls 33 spring?
Has anyone tried to install a Seimitsu LS-56 into a Madcatz FightStick SE? I have a LS-56 that I’m dying to try out, but I want to know if it fits into an SE before I buy one.
Yes you just need to get an MS mounting plate
Yes, it fits fine in both the SE and TE with a MS plate. Make sure to order one along with an Octo gate for grins.
The Seimitsu LS-56(-01) will fit.
Will have to use different Mounting Plate of course.
The stock Mounting Plate on LS-56(-01) is Seimitsu VF Mounting Plate.
You will need the Seimitsu MS Mounting Plate.
MS Mounting Plate is the stock Mounting Plate on Seimitsu LS-33 and LS-55(-01).
Use that on your Seimitsu LS-56(-01).
Then you be able to mount into Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick?.
I did not see Knubbe and Kyle make Post before me.
Laugh.
Awesome, thanks guys. I actually have a MS plate along with my LS-56.
Just to give you guys a head’s up. I’m thinking of trading my dual-modded Virtua Stick High Grade for a dual-modded Fightstick, since I can’t use a LS-56 in my VSHG. I have to fix a small wiring issue, but once that’s done, keep your eyes peeled in the Trading Outlet section within the next few weeks.
I recieved my LS-56-01 with the MS Plate, but I completely forgot to ask for the octo gate, however the square gate feels better (for me) than the Madcatz original square gate.
Am I right in thinking I can get an octo gate for my LS-56-01?
If it helps I got mine from here http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/LS-56-01.htm
This is what my SE looks like now after fitting the LS-56-01 and Sanwa OBSF-30s, shame the red isn’t exactly the same
I’m new to all this modding, any help would greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ibb
Yes and you should at least try it. It helped my execution considerably. I am not generally a fan of octo gates either.
Thanks for the quick reply Kyle.
Just ordered from Lizard Lick: the octagonal main guide for the LS 56 and a Sanwa Red ball top to match all my Red Sanwa parts.
Can’t wait, although it may be long wait as its gonna be shipped from the US to UK and with the holidays…nevermind its all sorted.
Thanks again, I’ll try to come back with an update.
Just as a recent discovery, I found out that the Sega Saturn Virtua Stick HSS-0136 (only first run) was mounted with a Seimitsu LS-56 instead of the more common and lower grade ASCII one. More info HERE.
Yes, that is true.
…
If say, you were to order an LS-56-01 to replace a JLF in a Tekken 5 (American) case, would you need a mounting plate for it or would spacers/washers be enough to fasten it onto the stock faceplate without mods?
I’ve been wanting to experiment with an LS-56-01 for a while (don’t want a looser stick or something that requires a lot of effort for a mod) and it’s been said by some that the LS-56 appears to fit into the JLF mounts without a huge problem…
The JLF is inside the madcatz SE and TE so yeah no problem right.
Hi Guys, first post here.
My first stick that I got almost half a year ago was the Hori Blazblue fightstick (PS3 ver.). I’m not really sure what’s in there but according to people it’s got a regular sanwa JLF and those ‘knock-off’ buttons (standard HRAP3 right?). Had a load of fun playing fighters with it but I still couldn’t get used to playing SHMUPs like this with all the large movements.
So I figured the JLF is practically unsuitable for SHMUPs unless you’re a pro with it and make/get a 2nd stick (also for multiplayer when my friends are over obviously). Finding out what’s good for a SHMUP stick looked to be pretty time intensive, they seem almost unpopular as most of the talk is about fighter sticks.
Currently I’m just weighing off the prospects/expenses of pre-fab case build or some modding of a factory model. Getting a pre-built custom looks out of the question considering the funds required, most seem to be fully fitted with Sanwa too.
After reading this thread and slagcoin’s guide, right now for a SHMUP stick the Seimitsu LS-56+octo gate seems the best to go with, or would you recommend trying the LS-32 first to make a more all-round stick with SHMUPs in mind? Thanks for these posts and reply if you have anything to add to this or to just point out that i’m horribly wrong. (maybe I should’ve made a new thread altogether hehu, but it’s a bit rude for a first post)
EDIT
Had a word with Kyle in a different thread who recommended me the LS-40 as top of his tier when it comes to SHMUP sticks, I guess I’ll go with that as he’s pretty informed on the subject.
plate
i ordered a ls56-01 can i use the plate thats on the madkats knockoff to put on the ls56-01?
No you cannot.
Are you going to use in a Mad Catz Arcade FightStick?
Will need Seimitsu MS Mounting Plate.
Which is default of a Seimitsu LS-55(-01).
Nope
plate
so theres nothing i can do?
Buy the appropriate Mounting Plate.
thats the last of the money i had because my mother is sick so i buy her medicine and help her with bills
If you have the tools necessary, then modify the stock Mad Catz Mounting Plate.
Drill the fours hole required to attach Seimitsu LS-56-01 to.
Also have to widen center hole from 21.3mm to 24.8mm.
