watch very closely to the beginning of round 2…
Yun: Lunge punch!
Yang: Oh no you don’t! protrudes 2 fingers
Yun: Oh maaaaaan!
Seems like yang has some good priority.
I wonder if that will stop a lot of things such as Makotos Hayate and Rog’s Rushes.
Meh, Greekistan politicians should have never decided to close the arcades down here >.> It sucks that I gotta wait for the console DLC. Keep the footage coming!
I’m not a Makoto player in SSF4… But I assume her EX is the only safe one, plus they will be wary of meter and will only get hit randomly by things like that. Makoto is still about the mix ups.

Well, it’s not that big of a deal, I mean you can jab people out of dash punches right now, just good luck timing it.
And yeah, Makoto’s dash punches are really unsafe, so just combo her after.
I dont think that the Ex rekkas is useless. people can use it as their advantage to get em in the corner to put pressure on em.i would use it to anytime. especially when they are in the corner and i use the ex rekkas.when they are spinning on the air then i can reset them and continue on with the pressure.
I have arrived with more videos for my people

Not to mention, the damage off EX slashes is strong. Sometimes worth ending punish combos with EX slashes. The cost of one bar is definitely worth it.
Between FADCing Slashes, his DP, and landing Super, I feel like his meter is just way way way too valuable to use on EX Slashes.
If we can find some good way to do a cool reset off of them I could see using them though.
I haven’t incorporated his super in to my game yet. That’s probably why I find myself using EX slashes more often then not in comparison to other Yangs.
i was at round 1 today using yang and after ex rekkas in corner you can follow up with his shoryu lk. i tried to go for ultra 1 but i messed up. his jab links are really easy but links starting from cr lk feel like linking with ibuki’s cr lk (too me anyways).
I have a theory.
In one of these videos, I saw Yang reset someone with far st.HP after EX rekkas in corner.
Now, I’m wondering if it’s possible to follow up with cl.mk if you’re closer and then combo into U1/U2, or if it’s possible to just U1 right after EX slashes?
I think it might work, considering the startup of far st.HP and the height the opponent is launched after EX slashes.
We have already discussed this in the combo thread, you can read more about it there.

Related to foblitz’s comment in the combo thread about landing dive kick > U1. If you look at 16:00 in this vid, Keno lands U2 off a counterhit dive kick so maybe it is possible. I assume you’d need a counterhit and must hit on the last active frame to combo directly into U1 though. I doubt it’s practical, but still cool.
Divekick pressure is liable to lead to counterhits, so while not the best setup, it is something you can take advantage for.
And Yang is all about being cool.
The more I see it in videos, the more I laugh with their forward dash. I always used short teleport myself on the ground.
Ah, sorry about that, didn’t check out that thread.
New SSFIV AE footage from A-cho
You can find some Yang gameplay at 1:28 and some Yun at 34:39

While the Yang player wasn’t exactly amazing, he had a few good ideas.
Yang makes up for his damage with pressure. He has all the tools such as a good wake up, an ultra 2 that goes through fireballs, many ways to use the ultra(s), easy bread 'n butter combo, teleport tricks, dive kick, and a command grab.
