I just wanted to know because I’ve been thinking about how a modern Streets of Rage might work.
Yeah this game would be proof of that.
Of all the things they are putting out with this series, why haven’t Sega actually made a multiplayer beat-em-up Yakuza? I think the psp one had a versus mode, not sure though. Tag team heat actions would sound insanely awesome. Hell, Bust-A-Groove like dance off with Haruka and crew actually might be fun if they want to throw that in too.
Because Sega blew all their money before this gen and are still reeling from so many poor decisions.
I think darts and a few other mini-games actually had online play in Yakuza 4. Haruka stuff sounds interesting but I’m still against this game getting multiplayer focused.
Yeah, Yakuza being the closest thing to a Streets of Rage beat em up is the reason why I play and enjoy it. The good story is an amazing bonus.

I love the gameplay in the Yakuza series. Honestly, the gameplay in the Yakuza series >>> majority of action games I’ve played. How much is Yakuza 4 these days? I beat the game, but it’s the only one missing in my collection. I also need to actually play through Yakuza 1 someday…
Edit: Holy shit @ being able to play VF2 online. Sega’s going that extra mile for toying with us for 4 games straight with those unplayable VF cabinets in the arcade.

Oh and Yakuza 5 demo releasing on JPN PSN next week, just a head’s up not that it’s worth it, seeing as the demos for the Yakuza games don’t give a good idea of how the game plays.
Yeah since Yakuza to me is an Action/RPG a demo doesn’t do it justice, but you best believe that is all I will play for the rest of November lol.

Picking between Kazuma and Ryo is too gut wrenching for me.
Edit: Wow Kazuma is soooooo low on the list, if everyone voted in this thread it still wouldn’t make a difference. To make matters worse Hatsune Miku and Segata Sanshiro are beating Ryo…these forums are distributing crack to minors.
It may be a lost cause. What we should do is give ideas to Sega America on pack in items if they ever want to do a limited edition, why not right? Go out with a bang this generation. Or even without it and have a limited run of things, perhaps for pre-orders.
After seeing all the merchandise associated with the game, clearly lots of Japanese themed stuff, a whole restaurant of soba noodles and such branded with Ryu Ga Gotoku for Nagoshi to visit and taste their wares, liquor too I think. Shavers, lighters, chopsticks and a bowl. Clothing, model cars that they showed for the Japan Earthquake Relief, a few figures of Kiryu even one of Majima that didn’t look too much like him I saw somewhere.
What I want, and it seems easy enough if they ever considered it, would be a Tojo clan pin. Represent.
That would be great, I’ve also noticed by the time Yakuza hits the west we usually get the dlc for free. I wonder what it will be this time? The fact that this game is going to have more than 100 minigames and on average a Yakuza takes 60hrs minimum to plat I doubt they will add anything significant. I’m still blown by VF2 being online within the game. Dat demo Tuesday…when does JP PSN usually update?
A Tojo Clan pin would be so awesome, I’d wear a suit every time I go out just to put it on and show it off to random pedestrians on the street to tell them I’m boss.
Then I’ll probably end up bumping into a tough-looking 50-year old wearing a grey suit, who tells me to stfu and performs a heat action with my face and a wall.
So the Yakuza 5 demo comes out either tonight or early tomorrow morning. Roughly around 3AM EST, at the good news is the JP store has the old layout. So it will be easier to navigate and load up.
Found this screen shot very interesting. Judging by the hue we all know this is the YF simulator from the previous games. Except this time it contains Haruka wielding a magical sword! At least she will get to fight in some form.
